same for two years.. perfect !

Thank you! I like the sounds of that

How is it that a website like namecheap or GoDaddy have domains to sell? I'm curious to understand that part of the "plumbing".

If a domain name isn’t reserved, they will create one on your behalf using a specific TLD registrar for that extension. Technically, you are leasing it because you can’t actually own one unless you are the TLD. That’s why there’s an annual fee. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top-level_domain

Thank you again!

Used Namecheap for years, had no idea that they accept Bitcoin. Nice!

I think I paid for namecheap through their btc payserver on lightning.

Me either. Nice find

I bought one!

Couldn't figure out how to pay with Bitcoin, but will sort that out later.

All I did was pay for it... What do I do next?

Can do my own research, but would love to get advice from Nostriches.

Their bitcoin option is a bit weak. They don’t accept direct payment, so you have to fund your account balance with an on-chain transaction. I’ve asked them to add Lightning but they said they aren’t seeing enough demand for it yet. Ask them!

I will! Thank you πŸ€™

Useful list of hosting/domain companies that might be accepting bitcoin for payments. It is constantly updated so worth bookmarking imo.
