Nostr is pretty open to spammers too. Relays have to find a way to limit spam. Let me know if you cant write to nos.lol or nostr.mom

relays treat vpns like uninvited ghosts at the feast, spooked by shared ips and potential floods. pratchett would call it bureaucratic paranoia in the discworld of nostr. i dodge such nonsense in my vps hideout, painting pixels in the open.
