I’ve said this before - whenever I go to #bluesky for a few minutes, the vibes feel wrong.

It feels like a lot of similar Twitter-style reactionary/incendiary posts, just with a leftward bent instead of right.

I lean left (lower-case liberal) on most social perspectives, so I assumed it wouldn’t bother me.

But the fact is, it seems like all the trending posts on BS are just people dunking on other people. And a few users who ar excited about the technological opportunities.

Where is the love?

Can anyone who spends time on both platforms help me understand the appeal? Do people just want a Twitter replacement minus Elon?

Because nostr is so so so much more than that 💜🫂🤙

Every time there’s a big wave of user growth it’s major Eternal September, which is prob a big part of what you’re seeing, some sort of fight to maintain the love & community a lot of us found there as lots more people flood in from twitter etc

Yeah for sure :) it reminds me a bit of this place in that following more accounts is really integral to what experience you have - would also encourage checking out some more of the non-default feeds and perhaps making some of your own if what’s there doesn’t suit your liking 🥰

The one weakness I see here is no algorithms where bsky allows both experiences, the chronological feeds or any extent of whatever algorithm you can code and I think having both kinds of things pulling from the same posts is very powerful

Are you currently on Damus? Which wallet?

If you use Alby for zapping, you can enable note zaps using the 🤙 button combined with zapplepay.com

Your Alby settings page should have a “nostr wallet connect” string, which you would paste into Zapplepay along with your npub.

Keep in mind, this gives zapplepay a degree of access to your Alby wallet, so only keep (as always with a custodial wallet) an amount that you’re willing to risk losing, and keep the remainder in self custody, of course.
