A blockchain is the worst type of database or file storage system in existence. Some people have zero background in information technology and it shows.

Second to that is boltdb πŸ˜‚

Never used that.

I’m pretty sure LND uses it πŸ˜‚

Oh.

Of course

Your profile says you like web3 and crypto... So which is it?

Wow 😳, did you just checked my profile!? I am surprised. Yes I liked web 3 and crypto. I am into some promising web 3 projects, projects like ReadON, HeartX, Phaver, Roundies on Solana, Avive, Ice network, Pi network and Star network. The cryptos I am really accumulating are $CORE, $SOL $EGLD and COSMOS project like $CRE +CRESCENT), $HUAHUA, $DVPN (SENTINEL) and BITCOIN layer 2 mainly.

Blockchain, so simple, yet oh so good fun.

Where would we be without mr nakamoto’s blockchain mr.

Buy #bitcoin

πŸ˜‚

Worst?! Depends for what, it is inefficient af, but it is the only one we know that allows us to just trust in Bitcoin as together with it's other properties a UTXO written in it is "immutable"

Without the Blockchain Bitcoin wouldn't function but outside of it it is useless

Btw I also have zero background in information technology, and it MIGHT show in how I write about itπŸ˜…

Lol, it was advertised in that way only, so people thought it can be used for everything. But practically that does not make sense, as it will keep growing with multiple copies 😜 and one day will boom. Then people moving to New chains sadly to start fresh. The costs will also be unimaginable to run nodes.

Unfortunately, some people are really good salesmen.

4am thots from Derek

Derek, what do you think of the inscriptions and the resulting high fees?

Inscriptions are exploiting a vulnerability.

Vulnerabilities should be fixed but I can't estimate the consequences

There's a use case for (nearly) everything.

Blockchains use cases tend to be "trustless" global replication of small amounts of data. Cryptocurrencies are the best-known example of where blochchain really shines, but there are potentially others, like supply chain management and certain kinds of property rights.

Decentralized blockchains are slow and costly,. For non-monetary use cases a centralized database I think is more logial, much cheaper, faster and more scalable.

A blockchain can be scalable, decentralized or secure. Only 2 of rhe 3 options can be used. The other option should be on another layer.

A blockchain is intended to be able to verify all the data without trusting anyone. It's not for storing or searching data.

I think you're both right. To be able to verify you need to store the transactions.
