Anyways another guy had an original comment like yours “influencer in bio” and I shared my thoughts with him, so I’ll copy paste for you 💋✨👇
To be fair, I would consider anyone who has some level of influence over any group of people an influencer.
- If you are able to influence anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL VILLAGE.
- If you are able to influence anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of people, then you are able to influence a SMALL TOWN.
- If you are able to influence anywhere from tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand people, then you are able to influence a SMALL CITY.
In Mimi's case, she is able to influence over 1 million people on her Instagram page alone. I know Mara in real life, and I can attest that when we go out, she is a POWERHOUSE. People flock to her; girls want to wear the clothes she wears, people want to travel to the places she visits, women listen to everything she says about skincare and beauty products. She might not be a bitcoin influencer YET, but she should certainly be considered influential, and she has the potential to bring her followers here.
- Goal 1 of mine: Use Nostr to show my girlfriends a real use cases of bitcoin (with ⚡️ zaps) with other people, because right now it’s just me going to dinner with the girls, asking them to pay, and then me paying them back in sats. It’s not the same as getting zapped everyday buy strangers. It is a process, but I am trying to help them realize the long-term value of these sat zaps. Teaching them that HODLing these zaps long term, will outweigh the quick returns from some BS IG #ad paid for by some BS company 🥵🤦♀️.
- Goal 2 of mine: Get my girlfriend’s off of IG and onto Nostr so we can keep growing
- Goal 3 of mine: When my girlfriend’s feel Nostr is a safe place and they are ready to bring their followers here, they will and we will grow Nostr even more.
If you don't like her telling you what she does (she is literally an influencer that brands want to work with. The cool thing about Mimi is that for a brand to work with her, she won't agree if she herself does not like them or their product.), what would you recommend she puts in her bio about what she does?
I think it would be awesome if Mimi ends up liking it here on Nostr and brings more of her followers here. I know she has the power to influence and bring more people here.

Trust me it’s a lot of work to bring non tech girls here right now, especially bringing them from IG 🤯 because they are comfortable there, a brand can pay an influencer anywhere from €1,000 - €15,000… + PER POST (it cost that brand more to run an add in some magazine where as on IG they can see their audiences reactions + statistics on each post so it’s worth it for them to pay an influencer a decent amount of $$$$$). HOWEVER, when my friends can grasp the 1sat/1dollar parity (I think say zaps will help this), I think they will feel it’s more valuable to be on #Nostr earning #sats (#HardMoney) for posting their work or just saying something that made someone laugh, than posting BS on IG where they are earning some BS inflated dollars. But this takes time and it won’t happen as fast as we all want it to happen if you scare girls away.

You have to understand that most of us came here because we were fed up with traditional social media where we didn’t have a voice and were always drowned out by big accounts who were getting paid to endorse things they didn’t really care about. She also said “Tell me about yourselves,” and didn’t tell us anything about herself! Why not try sharing more about who you are as a person before you try to “influence” us? 😁
So yeah, people here are genuine, honest, and very welcoming, but we’re also fairly skeptical and jaded too. It comes with the territory. BTW, if posting a single word is enough to scare someone off, does that make me an influencer? 🤔

Maybe she didn’t tell you about her because she is not here to talk about herself, she really came because she liked the concept of #Nostr and when I told her it’s a mini hang out place filled with some of the smarted people she wanted to learn more and asked me how she can join. She probably asked about you guys because she cares more about learning who you are and what you guys do vs talking about herself.

Yeah I agree here, but I’m gonna say something that might make people dislike me 🤷♀️
Women are meant to be taken care of to an extent, a man will hunt for her and she will cook him. However the man can also teach her to hunt that way should anything ever happen to him she is able to keep their offspring fed.
That being said, women have the ability to carry the next generation in their bodies. So in a tribe a woman is often times given a “break” when it comes to hunting and staring fires, because we offer something that you also find valuable.
And a woman who is in very good physical shape, offers good genetics for your offspring, super fun to hang out with, can cook, is well traveled (cultured), read-write-speak in multiple languages, … is quite valuable IMO 💋✨🙌

I hear you loud and clear, but my introduction was more so just to get people to say hello to her so she can simply see how comments look here, where to respond, what zaps look like … just for her page to get some activity 🤷♀️ trust me it’s not as smooth as IG so it takes some getting used to and getting many comments is a good way to feel it out.
Since I onboard her I wanted to help myself in a way and make it easier for me to show her where everything is. I think I’ll meet up with her in a few days if we manage to organize out travels to link up in the same city and I’ll be able to finish showing her around on #Damus.

Great thread. Respect is earned, especially here where we constantly talk about proof of work with respect to the curation of our content and social graph. Nobody deserves to just show up and be treated like they’re special. Even more so if they’re making a killing just by posting glamour shots of themselves in exotic places. It’s my 1st time being anonymous online and it’s kind of cool, but I did it for safety reasons. I experienced a very distressing situation with a stalker who broke into my house, I was just giving away too much information. Lesson learned

All jokes aside it’s a work in progress. All of my friends do their own social media (no managers; it’s 100% authenticity them), so that means they need to find a rhythm with it. I’m not sure how familiar you are with IG, but coming here from there is not “smooth”. Not everything works the way we are used to it working so that’s one “issue”.
The second is that it’s fashion week so we are all crazy busy and everyone’s phone is constantly on 1%.
Third thing is that today we celebrated the birthday of Mimi’s son and a quite a few of the girls are also having birthdays this month + next month, so we are all traveling for everyone’s birthday parties.
Of course the “Prove it, prove it” post is not up anymore. IG stories only last for 24hours. As for them bringing followers, it takes time for me to convince them that Nostr is “safe” and if one of their followers sees the IG story then happens to sign up with one of the Nostr clients (I know one of Julia’s followers joined just from seeing her IG “Prove it, prove it” story) that nothing dangers will happen to them.
The girls all feel quite responsible for their followers and they don’t want to invite them here if it turns out to be something crazy. Maybe to you Nostr has been around and is cool, but for normies that don’t read tech news and are not on twitter, they have literally NEVER heard of it.
Also I’m not sure if you know, but normies think “tech stuff” is either SBF (scammer risks) because he was all over the news it’s just fresh on their minds, hackers (they don’t even know the difference between white hat and black hat), or Steve Jobs (RIP 🙏), like there is really no in-between.
Don’t give me such a hard time, lol what if you end up falling in love and marring one of my girlfriends that I bring here? You will then have tell me sorry and thank you at the same time 😅. 2. I’m not a model. I would rather be a janitor for the CIA than degrade myself that way. I perceive my worth as a woman to be too high to use my face and body for promoting purchases.
3. I have known many fashion models, some signed to agencies such as IMG and Wilhelmina LA, as well as non-models who call themselves models bc they post FaceTuned, classless pictures on IG and think they look attractive.
These girls all have a defining set of characteristics that I won’t mention to avoid causing offense. This is partially what my previous comment was playing on, however non-serious it was.

I can’t imagine my livelihood depending so much on giving up my anonymity. If you don’t mind me asking, how much of your income do you need to spend now to get away from people who think they know you? Was it worth it? I know you can never get your anonymity back so the point is now moot, but I’m legitimately curious.
It seems at least that you value physical fitness, even though a path of vanity seems to have taken you there or at least somewhat motivated you. Hopefully you avoid silly fad diets and unnecessary cosmetic surgeries. Those don’t end well.
