I don’t run the Lightning node because it’s profitable, or because it’s safe, or because it’s techy and sexy. I do it because it chips away from the centralized and corporation controlled network of payment processors. It is a lossy business for the most node operators, but it keeps the network functioning and payments going without “big brother’s” permission or blessing. Fuck the corporations, let ‘em rot and stagnate

ya the last sentence is correct. Fuck the corporations. That's what I have been doing most of my life. No YouTube, Spotify, No Netflix and almost all corporations. It's difficult as almost everything is a corporation but with Bitcoin we are going to bring down the banking corporations then the other corporations will slowly fall.
So running a lightning node allows us to bypass the corporations and banks and save this world.
