This is the node that routed all the payments to the trucker protest in 2022. It's decommissioned now, but such a cool piece of Bitcoin history to have on my shelf. Maybe one day I'll put it up for auction (though I don't know if I'll ever want to let it go).

This will go down in history

As what?

What’s the use of the coldcard inside?

It's just a sticker 😁

Damn! I’m guessing they’re not that small? I saw it in relation to the pi and immediately wanted one for cuteness sake

love this convo right here

Lot of effort went into stopping that little box

Haha I really wonder how much it cost the Canadian government (in fact the taxpayer) to try to stop that box.

What will the other 16565 cost? 🤣

Maybe get your signature and Caribou's on it if you do auction it.

Don't auction, keep it!

You should open a museum of #Bitcoin History, Ben.

Lightning payments or electrum server? is that a coinkite coldcard as well?

Wait, you mean that wasn’t for drug dealing and terrorism activities??!

Literally what someone said about all bitcoin transactions to me today.

The trucker protests *was* terrorism

A piece of history. Awesome.

Keep it!

Why was the coldcard in it? There’s a way to permanently link a coldcard to a RPi4? And why would one do that?

F***Ing legend! Thank you!!!

What’s the story behind it? Would love to learn more 🙏🏼🟠

Bro, do a youtube video on this! What a great piece of history to show the world how #bitcoin saved people in the midst of tyranny. This would be such an amazing way to orange pill people.

Trudeau would probably call it the Enigma machine. Encryption v3.

Can you explain "routed all the payments", do you mean it had a wallet that then forwarded BTC to truckers? (just want to understand the setup a little better)

So it was the receiving lightning node for all LN payments, but also served as the copy of bitcoin core that was referenced by a local copy of Sparrow Wallet before being sent into the multisig wallet.

This could be placed in a bitcoin museum one day. Awesome.

What’s the coldcard doing there? If you Don’t mind me asking.

Just FYI, I shared this on my other social media sites 2 days ago, and 3 people have already inquired and downloaded their first wallet. One of them was a gold bug. None of them knew that bitcoin had anything to do with the Canadian Trucker situation. This is going into my pitch when I orange pill people.

You mean the bitcoin that was confiscated by the government

Lol there was no Bitcoin confiscated.

Sure there was

Yes there was. 30% sits in a legal escrow. That said, it was the only digital donation method that actually made it to the intended recipients, despite the mistakes I made along the way. I outlined where I messed up and how others can do better in this interview.

Definitely gonna listen to this. Do you think nostr will be helpful the next time this happens (because it’s gonna happen again 💯)

I was not aware! Interesting. Thanks.
