How βshortβ is your video ? You might be hitting the limit for free uploads on nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7 which is what they both use to upload
If it exceeds 7MB in size you wonβt be able to upload on the free tier
Yes this is a problem. I just onboarded a friend who is a content creator but not a bitcoiner nor nostrich (although he would probably be interested). He wants to upload short videos but Iβve been having to upload to my satellite.earth account and share the link with him. How is a normie supposed to figure this out?
It's bad UX all around.
βJust download Primal app. But if you want to upload video content, then you should use a CDN like Satellite.Earth. But wait, donβt plug your private key into that site. Download an extension that stores your private key locally and lets you sign events in the browser.
Oh great, you got on satellite.earth, now you just need to buy some storage on their CDN.
Donβt forget to use a non-custodial lightning wallet like Mutiny to pay for that invoice. Then just upload your video, copy the link and paste in your note. Easy!β

haha. on point. it's bad. we can do better, eventually. in the meantime, this isn't a good solution for the masses, but this is a good solution for your friend. if he's a legit content creator and wants to use primal, we can get him access to upload 1GB videos.

Maybe nostr:npub12vkcxr0luzwp8e673v29eqjhrr7p9vqq8asav85swaepclllj09sylpugg and nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 can help you out with any issues..
You can try using Handbrake to compress it.

I tend to use this to compress the video and then I use your client of choice to upload.

Damus, Nostur, etc. I think itβs just the default size is too large. Most videos can be compressed without much loss and it speeds up upload and download times.
Sign up for nostr.build premium account. Then uploads should work on Damus.
