It is absolutely critical for believers to understand, to internalize, and to study the reality that God is more than just love. God is just. God is sovereign. And God is severe.

We don’t fear the Lord like we should. We are called to, but we truly don’t have the fear of God in us.

God loves us. He is a friend that is closer than a brother. He is also our King. Our Creators and we owe him everything. Christians tend to go to either extreme. God is beyond us but reveals himself to us.

Proverbs 9:10

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

Absolutely. Where did this idea that "God is love" and "all you need is love" come from? I'm guessing Liberal Christianity and the "Social Gospel". Even if you only read the New Testament it's clear that the consequences of sin are dire. And general revelation in nature shows us the world is brutal. Thank God for salvation through faith in Christ alone. And completely underserved to boot. Eternal life and salvation as a free gift! Loving to the elect for sure, but for those not called by grace.... well that is humbling and awe inspiring to consider....

It comes from Gods word, the Church, and the actions of Christians. The NT is full of it besides this but here it is literally. But people distort the Gospel and today it seems people want to manipulate the Word to fit the culture.

1 Jo 4:8 NASB The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

And

1 Jo 4:16-17 NASB We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

Anger is weakness.

Righteous anger exists.

It does indeed. I’m angry that god didn’t die for my sins, that he made up.

God allowed for your sin by way of creating Adam with free will such that he immediately fell away from God, leaving all of mankind in sin.

While God's plan is mysterious to us, we can hypothesize that it at least includes raising Himself a genuine people, which one might conclude that free will, right and wrong, and the ability to choose between them, would be a prerequisite.

Laser, I appreciate you brother, very much. Love the sovereignty you stand for in the bitcoin space, love the masculine frame stuff, the anti-seed oil stuff… all great. Repeating what you’ve read in the bible without applying your own critical thinking to things is where we diverge. It’s not personal to you, it’s a symptom of something larger. It’s a fear I think for Christians to admit that being a good person and having morals is possible without needing a Lord or God to punish you for sin… I can have open and honest dialogue with you, but it takes too long to reply here. Much better to have a live conversation in talk show/ podcast /radio format.

Only God can turn your heart to Christ, it's not my decision, and I won't attempt to convert you.

🤝

I noted your slight that you don't believe I am applying critical thinking. That's a common trope with secularists, that only they think critically.

Same for me. I won’t try to convert you, but I can share the questions I had and the experiences that I continue to have, which took me from studious Chistian to someone with his own ideas. I don’t ascribe to group-think- even around atheists.

I didn’t mean that as a slight or a dig, not my intent. As I stated, happy to converse with you about it live, doesn’t need to be recorded either it can simply be a conversation, but I find most Christians are fearful and not open to the questions, I feel are basic. Like I stated, I won’t change your world view. Questions are only good for the curious.

In justice we can be condemned to hell for one sin. But God is merciful. I really want to launch into how the Church fits into this but it would take many words to explain.

Jesus still warning about this, right up until the last chapter of the bible, even while showing the new heavens and the new earth.

Yeah, we have this image of a weak Jesus. A feminine Jesus that has been pushed on our culture.

We need reverie him and give Him our allegiance.

Yes I think of the clearing of the temple often. But it’s not violence for its own sake, I try to recognize the terrible true Justice, without any undue revenge or unrighteousness

What does one do when God says 'I'm here for the shotcoins sell all the bitcoins!!'

Tough choice right there.

God is logos.
