The normalization of toxic processed foods in the US is hard to fathom.

Kids are literally raised on the shit and almost everyone in all age groups needs a hit of sugar, processed grains and seeds oils every few hours.

I just can’t understand why they don’t get it.

It's an uphill battle trying to get mine to eat the locally sourced, fresh, snacks/meals or single ingredient foods that I prepare.

The packaged shite is engineered to be like kidding crack.

Not even just for kids man the adults are supremely hooked too. And the normalization of it all has to make it 10x worse bc it seems like it’s totally fine from a kids perspective. Everyone’s doing it, everyone is fine, and that’s shit is so GOOD.

I worry about the day I have kids how to handle it all…

Ok, so its actually not THAT hard. It just requires discipline on your part.

If you never give your children garbage food, they may ask for it at the store or at a friends house, but they dont crave it.

For the first several years you absolutely do not give any sugar snacks of any sort.

People around me act like I "lucked out" because my kid wont eat candy, chocolate, or cake.

It wasnt luck.

It was discipline, I didn't give the easy foods, what's easier than eggs? They don't need quick snacks, they need substantial food. Once they're eating solid food there's really no reason to keep buying anything from the baby aisle in the store (food wise).

All those snacks and specially crafted feed items are just gearing the child toward bad habits and getting them hooked on carbs.

I bribe my kid with jerky not candy.

Honesty I don't blame the state for treating people like sheep when all they do is act like it. Imagine giving your kids fluorescent coloured food from boxes without question.

I agree. I try to empathize with these people but I really feel a lot of distain.

I had the fiat food conversation with so many normies, nothing changes. I'm all out.

All out, I like that. I’m all out of fiat everything but especially food. I just will not touch the stuff.

The fish don’t know they’re in water.

I wonder what the rate of awareness actually is…

I see it with my nieces and nephews and it makes my heart hurt.

The parents say “oh my kids will only eat this or that”. No! They will eat good food if you don’t have the other stuff around- it’s not that complicated.

If the parents don’t value real food then the kids definitely will eat junk since it’s more convenient/cheaper

It’s incredibly apparent how bad US food quality is when you go to Europe and lose weight without trying, all while eating out more than you would otherwise in the US.

We have good meat here if you look but our breads are atrocious and mostly everything else that isn’t an ingredient contains some combination of sugar, seed oils and processed wheat. It’s really crazy looking at the ingredients of food-stuff in the grocery store. It’s so fucked up…

💯
