Another thing is academics. Most of them assume the rest of us are some sort of idiot.

Many college-educated women can't find a college-educated man, despite men and women having the same average intelligence and high intelligence being dominated by men, and that is because attending college is not proof of an intelligence above the amount required to have 90 IQ.

If college were a direct proxy to intelligence, men and women would always attend at a 50/50 rate and all of the top tiers would be majority male. It is the precise opposite: women dominated academia and them dominating a particular branch of academics is an indication that that branch correlates less-strongly with intelligence. The people who flunked out of the physics or engineering program are probably much smarter than the average female B.A., but those women think denial is a river in Egypt.

Uh, you are saying that women are “less intelligent”? According to some supposedly scientific measure? There have been hundreds of years of attempts now to “measure intelligence”, with the methods and outcomes constantly shifting.

There are more Midwit women because they're are less women at the extremes. Men's intelligence is a quite significantly larger distribution.

The Raven data actually suggests that the entire male curve is shifted right (men dominate the genuises and women dominate the retarded), but women make up for that with increased height in the middle.

Other data sets show the men having a broader distribution, to both ends, but Raven is actually one of the best measures.

I feel like there's a hands-on/theoretical divide to intelligence too.

Case in point: 1st person is really good at sailing a boat, knowing what the boat is going to do with the wind coming from a certain direction and sail set one way.

2nd person can't steer the boat but can figure out all the ropes and pulleys of the sails to replace them with new ropes & pulleys which 1st person can't do.

That's the various applications of intelligence, but they all spring from the same well.

I picked a Seal, in my example, as their average IQ is 112, which is nearly 1SD, and that puts them in the 78th percentile.

Nobody thinks of them, when they think of smart people, but a dumb Seal would be too easy to kill.

Men and women are equally-intelligent, on average, but the distribution is different.

Measures of intelligence are extremely advanced and reliable, across a population, and they have no false-positives, on an individual basis.

It's actually easy to see how accurate the measures are, as they are highly-predictive of real-life outcomes and correlate tightly with other measures. Like the ASVAB or SAT.

I mean, you can just hear them on a blind date, right?

I really care about knowledge and intelligence. I have always Put Education First. I'm really proud of my master's degree in social work.

Oh, wow, that's impressive. Yeah, I tried college, but it didn't work out. Guess I'm not good at school.

Oh.

Well.

I'm looking for a man on my own level.

What do you do for a living, then?

I was a Navy Seal. I now run a busines selling specialty electronics for underwater exploration.

Oh. Well, I guess it's good that you found some employment. Yeah, so, I feel like this has no future, sorry.

I flunked out of the engineering program back in the day.
