No, Hamas is full of religious fanatics who convinced an entire region to sacrifice their children for a military adventure.
They're international political locusts and the Palestinians got hoodwinked into joining their fight to wipe Israel completely off the map and turn Palestine into a Sunni theocratic state. That is their own self-proclaimed political goal, and it is a goal that could completely destroy Palestine, but Hamas doesn't care. Hamas has never cared. Hamas does not want to be a good national government for Gaza; it wants to establish a worldwide Umma. Those are two opposing goals. You have to break some eggs, when making an Umma omelette and Palestine is the eggs.
Hamas has also never been the preferred government for a majority of Palestinians. The whole movement is astroturf, with Palestinians backing their efforts out of ethnic loyalty and political frustration at the lack of progress elsewhere. Everyone wants to be "keeping it real" and "sticking up for the homies", but their homies are _insane_. Like black people who defend gang bangers because they don't want to look like a sellout.
And you don't get to call it a genocide, if you start a war. Did the Germans get genocided by the Allies? No, THEY LOST AND GOT THEIR ASS KICKED.

Everyone. All of them are making money off of the war, including the ones working within Palestine and Israel. There is no political motivation, from any side, to end the war.
It's the same in Ukraine. Everyone on both sides is making bank and there is no motivation to end it.
War becomes perpetual because of this ramping-up and entrenchment effect of a war economy. It usually only ends when one economy gets so flattened that it can't continue to produce or import weaponry. Just have to look at Somalia or Afghanistan or Syria or wherever, to see that this can go on and on and on...
and the propaganda machine keeps the people pacified towards continuing it forever, while they start to more and more notice that everything costs more. but that's just a coinkidink.
People also just get bored of the topic. There's always a new war, someplace.
Palestine is a classic example of outsiders goading an ethnic minority into a hopeless war and then abandoning them and "supporting" them by sending heart emojis on Twitter and concern-trolling at left-wing campus demos.
Palestine was a political fad and it's already going out of style. It was a dumb idea. Someone should have explained to them, what a dumb idea it is, but nobody actually cared about them. For Palestinians arming themselves in self-defense, profit is successful self-defense, and potentially justice.
For genocidal arms manufacturers, profit is printing more money than you spend, until suddenly, at an older, wiser age, profit is getting away with your war crimes.
Everyone always claims self-defense. It's an irrelevant argument.
You always start off making just enough for your own situation, but economies of scale make it easy to run up production, and then you start specializing and exporting. And exporting the arms helps you finance your war, so it's a vicious cycle, and you just keep doubling-down.
