If you're educated or intelligent, those characteristics should present themselves. If you have to tell people, then maybe you aren't.
Ah, yeah I was seeing it as something separate from the "I'm beautiful & intelligent..." stuff because maybe they are literally referring to their years in school, but it makes sense that's it's basically the same thing.
So "which one of us are you trying to convince?" probably applies there too.
