Explain please your provider take cc payments for mortgage?

Fold Card to PayPal and pay mortgage I believe

Correct! It works so well. It's a no brainer.

I use Fold. I use PayPal to pay the mortgage with my Fold card.

PayPal bill pay. I pay off both my mortgage and credit cards with my Fold Card.

Yep! I use a CC to buy everything, then pay the CC off each moth. It yields a lot of extra sats for doing nothing more than I'd already be doing. It's so easy.

It’s incredible. I get 1-5% back in points from my credit card and then another 1% back in sats for paying off said credit card.

This is the way. Also, Fold doesn’t see what you’re actually buying, they just see money to PayPal.

You can check on PayPal’s pay bill feature if your mortgage provider accepts PayPal. Surprisingly many do.

Life hack #2. Have kids and have them play the metaverse game for you to earn your sats and spins. 🤣👀

Today is the last day to do so in Fold :(

Morty, car payments, insurance, electricity, cable, for me they're all there.

Nice! Dominate stacking.

I pay utilities with a credit card and then pay off the credit card with Fold+PayPal bill pay.

And if it's a rewards card, you get to double dip your rewards. 🤝

Wow. Can you do automatic payments?

You can schedule them, but not make recurring.

Is that the Spin+?

I have Spin+, yes. But I did spin the wheel over a dozen times to land on 3%.

But by spinning you have a rewards limit so you’re not getting the full 3% (unless you have a really small mortgage I guess)

How are you getting 3%? I take the fiat 1% because it’s on the full amount. If I decide to gamble and spin, getting something like 3% comes with a reward limit (I think $100) so it comes in at less than 3% of the full amount. After lots of experimenting I’ve come to the conclusion taking the flat 1% is the way for large spends like credit card and mortgage.

Lmao flat 1%**

Oh snap, I didn't know there was a reward limit... Thanks for pointing this out! And followed!

Only if you choose to spin. The flat 1% is on the full amount with no limit.

And followed back :)

The most you should use for any bill is $1250. That's $25 at 2%, which is the 2% cap. I just pay bills over multiple payments and sometimes over multiple days if I need to earn more spins. It's a bit of work, but worth the sats IMO.

Ah okay this makes sense! To be honest, didn’t really think about paying off my bills in multiple payments. Definitely a nice little hack! May experiment with it and see if it’s worth the work for me. Thanks!

You're welcome and good luck!

One of the guys that comes to our meetup pays all his bills in $3 increments. I'm not sure if that's the optimal strategy, but I appreciate the hustle.

That seems excessive 😂

Holy shit! Definitely better odds for higher % back at that spend level I’d think…

Haha that’s amazing

I can almost guarantee to get 2% on every large purchase. I do the daily game and save spins. Usually I'll have 12 to use for my CC or mortgage. And now with bitcoin purchases giving spins, I just smash buy some bitcoin and then pay the bill. My 3% was just extra lucky this time.

Gotcha! I guess I could manage my spins better but seems like a lot of work. Also with the rewards limit when spinning, I’m not sure 2% would yield anymore than the flat 1% for my mortgage (~$3600)

Yeaaaah.

Such an incredible hack I almost wish I had a mortgage. Where are you pulling the 3% number from? Spin+ has been really tough to hit 3% lately and expiring spins not helping.

The wheel has been pretty good in December. Just taking the 1% on mortgage payments is amazing. I worry if PayPal is gonna shut that down at some point? Someone has to be losing there I would guess.

💯 I am pretty solid at landing 2% on big purchases by stacking free spins and using the metaverse game but 3%+ has been really tough. Definitely used to be easier to land. But any percentage back on a mortgage payment is choice.

Agree. If PayPal ends up blocking that route then Fold goes back to being mostly useless for me. I am curious what Strike will offer with their debit card when it launches.

Yeah, I need to stop scamming myself and start using Fold. Anyone use credit cards that have Bitcoin rewards?

Fold + Robosats with high earn gift cards tho…

I did that once to try it out. It works well

I think BlockFi has a credit ca…… oh right.

Fold says they are releasing a CC at some point but their debit card is legit.

They've been saying coming soon on a credit card for two years, I think? Meh. The debit card works well for me. I'm happy with my current setup.

Yeah, deleted paypal years ago and don’t like them but want a cc for some automation… but i hear ya

I know it's not bitcoin only but Gemini has a credit card. Right now I'm earning 10% back in bitcoin on gas purchases with them.

I'm with you. I'm not proud of it, but as soon as that was announced, I switched to Gemini for all of my gas purchases. All of the travelling we've done the past two months and the price of gas made this into an incredible positive. We gotta do what we gotta do to stack.

Love the fact that Gemini is instant rewards vs waiting for end of month

💯

Once I get a sizable amount of sats I'll just run them through whirlpool to gain forward privacy

Looks like Gemini is back to 1% for gas…at least it was with my latest gas purchase. Anyone else seeing the same?

Interesting. I filled out my wife's car yesterday and didn't even check the reward. It is only 5%. 2 days ago. I filled my tank last week and got 10%.

Website says 10% but only for first year and up to $200 per month in spend each month.

Checked the website and it looks like some decent rewards overall though. 3% on dining is pretty legit too.

Totally. Just tried to convince my wife to change our joint card to it. I’ll get her. Would be really great if we can then pay it off with the Fold card.

and 2% on groceries, my costco visa doesn't give anything extra for groceries so the gemini card is a no brainer.

Yep, just saw the same…after the $200 for that month looks like it goes back to 1%

I did hit $200+ this month. We had a lot of travel. Odd though that it was 5.04186%.

Probably because you started getting 1% after hitting $200 and netted out at 5.04286%? 🤷‍♂️

Yep, I saw same this month.

Assume you can pay this one off with your fold card as well?

I wanted to do that. However I didn't see Gemini listed in PayPal to pay it.

Which bank do they use? For example, with my Chase Sapphire, it’s listed in PayPal as Chase Mastercard and Visa.

The card says issued by WeBank, so I should look for them on PayPal?

Yep and it’s there!

Yep. I found it too. Thank you! I'll pay next month's bill this way. Double dipping Bitcoin rewards! 🧡

You're quite welcome! Thanks for the heads up on the Gemini card! Working on convincing my wife to switch to it for our joint card now to do the same!

Just got the go ahead from the wife!

Hell yeah. More sats!

But what's the catch?

You just need a Fold card and Spin+ membership. I guess the catch is the $100 a year membership fee, but you can easily get that back after a month if you use the card for large bills. https://use.foldapp.com/r/DEREKROSS

How does one do this. I use fold but I thought you couldn’t get rewards to automated bill payments routed through fold. Has this changed? Was I always wrong here?

Not automated. You have to use PayPal bill pay and add your mortgage servicer as a bill.

I use PayPal to pay the bill and I have PayPal set to use my Fold card. It's a great work around.

Whaaaaaat 😃

Can we do something like this in the UK? Does anyone have any idea?

In which countries is it available?
