https://nostr.kiwi/ is a really interesting nostr app… never seen it before… how does do communities?

🙏
Just released list views. Gonna make announcement.
Love it how nostr is so interoperable between clients. Build on top of nostr:npub1zuuajd7u3sx8xu92yav9jwxpr839cs0kc3q6t56vd5u9q033xmhsk6c2uc listr
Are you based here in Aotearoa New Zealand or just like the .kiwi domain?
I’m in Singapore.
Domain is sponsored by nostr:npub10jnx6stxk9h4fgtgdqv3hgwx8p4fwe3y73357wykmxm8gz3c3j3sjlvcrd 🫶🏻
Kiwis are adorable, plus you could say they are somewhat related to ostriches.
Love it how this all worked out together - the concept, the domain and the logo.
UX is becoming more and more pleasant literally every hour too 💜
Nice! :) Is there a web app version of the app?
It’s 100% web app. Add to Home Screen to make it native looking
But can I use it in my browser on the computer? I’m just seeing the landing page with the live app preview.
Open the site with Brave, then click the ... and select Install on Home Screen. It will install as an app. I'm using Coracle like this.
ok you 'must' install the web app for it to work
why do all the 'reddit' nostr apps look like twitter? ffs
try visit old.reddit.com and copy that ui, quick before the woke faggots at reddit delete it
Communities on nostr are abolute garbage regardless of UI. I know this because I tried to create, moderate and evangelize them.
There's 0 moderation tools. You need to approve EVERY note manually, including your own.

Check this out. It's domain-based communities with moderation tools:
Yep. Tried as well. Non starter.
There are Groups on Coracle that seem to be somewhat functional but I don't think many clients support it so it's also a non starter.
So, only zero moderation, 4chan-like forums can work? That may be what some people are looking for. Lol. Though even 4chan has some moderation.
nostr:npub1vrte73vdykqt45lz6jejq72eaca0nucym63yyr4yauay560xmkzsjkakqv the thing is 4chan forums have really heavy moderation.
https://www.4chan.org/janitorapp
Only the /b/ - random forum has lighter moderation, but it’s not the unmoderated forum that the internet thinks it is.
Interesting. This is my first time seeing the "janitor" application page. Yeah, 4chan was a wild place in the 2000s. It was the kind of place that toughened your skin or desensitized you to certain remarks or attacks.
I, myself, am a moderator of a forum that's now significantly more tame (some of the other mods engage in too much censorship) now than how it was eight or so years ago. The board has lost its spark/edge. If I were the admin, I'd do away with most of them.
