Can someone explain the benefits of a sats card?
Based on the tutorial I don't understand the use case.

Essentially same use case as an open dime, but reusable: offline sats that can be physically exchanged without necessarily moving a UTXO
Ex:
The year is 2035. I put 100K sats on a satscard.
I go to the car dealership, and pick out my favorite luxury vehicle.
I hand the salesperson my satscard; they scan it to verify the amount is accurate, and I drive away with the car.
That 100K satscard can be passed to the next user, or it can be “unsealed” and deposited into the business’ wallet address.
Also makes for a great gift without needing to see/scan the receiver’s address

Nunchuck Wallet is the go-to app to check a balance on a sats card
Can you only buy them from
Coinkite?
Believe so, but there may be other authorized resellers out there
Has improvements over its predecessor, the Opendime.
Opendime could be spent from once, then the private key was known. Satscard has multiple spending slots.
Current price of Opendime is about $23 (in packs of 3). Satscards are as cheap as $7.
Opendimes are PCB with surface mount components and dont stack well. Satscards are flat, stackable, customizeable, and have an NFC interface instead of USB.
So it's a bit like cash, right?
Waste of time, next.
I picked up a few SATS cards. I’ll probably just top them up with some btc and stick the cards in a draw somewhere and use as savings
