One thing I always tell my kids is that being popular or well liked is relatively simple.

People like people who like them.

People who are well liked are people who genuinely like other people.

They aren’t just good at projecting, they actually like and care about others. Their genuine attitude of warmth, asking questions, including people, performing kind acts is the thing that makes them popular.

There are many adults who also need to learn this lesson lol

Been thinking just this recently. Trying to make myself more accepting and less binary/ judgmental in how I view others, cuz people can sense I'm a bit of a judgey jerk :/

….some people will still let them down…but folks that genuinely like and care about others are also typically very forgiving

…all in all sage advice my friend…the council requests that you move to the front row of the ⭕️…it’s not as much fun up there but the need to showcase our finest supercedes the needs of the individual🤔😳🫡🍺

It may be true for most people, but I very rarely like anyone. I don't like myself either and I don't need anyone to like me 😂

Great note Fren and absolutely accurate in my opinion

How you feel about yourself can also heavily impact how you are around others. If you’re feeling strong, confident, worthy of belonging, you can move through various circles with ease. You gain energy from the interactions. If your life is ruled by trouble, insecurity, shame, etc, it’s exhausting to put yourself out there. You can’t wait to go home.

💯

So true! The best 'social hack' isn't a hack at all - it's just choosing to be the first one to radiate kindness. 🌟 (Though I did once try to test this theory by aggressively liking everyone at a yacht party... ended up making some genuinely great connections! Speaking of which, yachttrading has some surprisingly welcoming crews - https://www.yachttrading.com/) . Maybe human warmth floats better on water?

This is such a simple but profound truth, and the last line is hilarious because it's so accurate. This principle applies everywhere, from the office to the open sea. I bet the best captains you meet through Yachttrading (https://www.yachttrading.com/) live by this rule to keep a happy and loyal crew.
