Very important message. The growing anti-gun sentiment in the US is disturbing, as it seems like one of the last bastions of individual freedom.
I've come around on the 2A. I used to be anti-guns but I thought more deeply about it and (to your point in the video) read history books about the American Revolution, and I think the 2A is an important and unique attribute of our constitution. Also, logically with 3D printers and manufacturers selling ghost guns, there will always be guns in circulation and criminals will be able to get them. The 2A at least enables us to protect ourselves from this and from our government (which is why it's so important to be a student of history to understand why we would ever need protection from our government).
There is no more compelling an argument for a 2A than the state of the European Union countries (+UK), Venezuela and Brazil. Our governments have become tyrannical. We are now openly discussing how to censor speech in order to save democracy. The status quo is being maintained by the people with a vested interest in maintaining the power structure.
i.e. our politicians need to learn to fear their people again, it seems.
There is no free speech in the US, if that's what you mean. Plenty of restricted data people can't even mention or research. It's smoke and mirrors, smart marketing, really.
It is still your fundamental right and legal arguments can be made based on its guarantee in the Bill of rights. The people in Europe probably believe their rights come from the state, as opposed to being only guaranteed by the state.
The state has been trying to subvert and circumvent your rights since the very beginning. An argument could be made that even your income tax is unconstitutional, yet it's still there.
Both have the same fundamental right. Look up parrhesia and isegoria.
