How’s Bitcoin changed you?

Here’s some of mine.

-Became a libertarian and don’t simp for politicans.

-Become skeptical of any centralised hierarchies. E.g big tech and big pharma

-No longer eat processed soy laced food and seed oils.

-Spend more time in the sun.

-Appreciate my free time

-No longer worried of peoples opinions.

-I now value privacy on the internet. Interested in the cyberpunk ideals

-Made me a better debater and deep thinker

-Took me down many rabbit holes and see through many veils

-No longer an atheist, and brought me closer to God

-My dream is now to own large piece of land and have my own cattle and chickens.

It hasn't.

Haha don’t believe you

I guess I understand the need for decentralization and censorship resistant technology more than I did a few years ago.

Open your eyes wider. You now have to question every single thing media and gov say.

We are being manipulated and here is what I can’t understand; why?

What do these 🤡’s gain by manipulating us?

I’m a lot less worried in general

Bitcoin changed me because now my only friends are you guys.

💜🙏🏻

Bad ass. Want to open this conversation: How has it brought you closer to God? One thing that I have struggled with as a Christian Bitcoiner is the idea of “don’t trust, verify” (which I apply to a lot of my life now) being basically directly in opposition of the basis of Christianity, which is faith. I’m still a Christian, but I think Bitcoin has made me at least have those opposing thoughts, and I think it’s interesting that it’s been opposite for you. Not debating you at all, just curious on your experience as it’s been something I’ve thought about through my journey.

What ass? It’s obstruction of federal services which is a treason if done by other federal services and felony or treason for civilians.

Plague or cholera, right?

The "don't trust, verify" for me only applies when dealing with money or currency. You always verify that the ledger is correct, no double spending, no additional money can be created in thin air, etc. Faith is more on spiritual in my humble opinion.

Becoming a bitcoiner and “conspiracy theoriest” makes you seem like a crazy person to those who are still living in delusion about how the world works. I kinda of came the black sheep of my family.

So I guess the way I found salvation and peace through faith in a higher power than myself.

What makes my god the true god and all others false gods?

I have no proof.

There is no god or we’re all gods.

It’s a personal journey, only you can make that decision for yourself. But if you take the time to study theology I am sure you will find your answer. 😉

I believe in verifying religion too; like the Bereans. Acts 17:12 "Day after day they studied the Scriptures to see if these things were true."

Romans 1:18-23, namely:

"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse."

The Christian's faith isn't a blind faith, as it seems you're suggesting. God's power is on display all around us. The notion that everything came from nothing is nonsensical.

Of course, Christianity is more than just a Creator - it's a Creator who provided a path to reconciliation through salvation. I'd suggest giving The Case for Christ a read to help with your desire to verify.

My personal experience is intuition. I just know it’s the truth. I when I walk off the path my life goes to shit when I try my best to stay on the path blessings come.

I hear you, and am glad that you're on the path! However, a word of caution that God doesn't promise health and wealth for those following Him. The life of a Christian is one of much persecution, and it's important to trust God's design for our lives, regardless of the circumstances.

Well said I needed that reminder. Amen!

Nothing against any point in specific but aligning yourself with every popular bitcoin maxi mainstream position is the polar opposite of free thinking and just another form of blind cultism.

I am not bitcoin maxi as of yet. Bitcoin still needs more privacy before I declare myself a maxi. Bitcoin needs to allow users to transact with end-2-end encryption trustlessly then I will. This is why I am fan of BIP-300 Drivechains. Cash allows for private transactions, bitcoin needs work like cash for me to be a maxi. But my whole journey of learning about bitcoin, economics and libertarainism has been a huge learning transformational experience at least for me.

Most stuff you mentioned are just unfounded maxi cliches unrelated to libertarianism or bitcoin

What are the “unfounded maxi cliches” I mentioned?

-No longer eat processed soy laced food and seed oils

-Spend more time in the sun.

-Appreciate my free time

-No longer worried of peoples opinions.

-Made me a better debater and deep thinker

-No longer an atheist, and brought me closer to God

-My dream is now to own large piece of land and have my own cattle and chickens.

These are just health/lifestyle choices that are frequently echoed by maxis and have nothing to do with bitcoin nor libertarianism. They are "unfounded" not because they are wrong but because they are subjective and personal.

Leanring about bitcoin lead to my personal development so it’s not unfounded to me.

My point was that the fact that your personal development aligns with the popular bitcoiner ghospel is a worrying sign of cultism that needs to be re-checked if you really value critical thinking.

“Cultism” is a weak argument. Since the dawn of human history humans have been tribal and have a set of shared beliefs (usually based on some universal truths). As I said I am not a maxi but you want to put me in that box to prove your point that I dont critically think for myself. Being a bitcoiner is not a cool thing and it’s mainly social suicide to say in the real world with family and friends. To think for yourself and different from your peers takes critical thought and deep self-reflection. And to challenge the entire financial/political/educational/pharmaceutical establishment status quo also requires someone who has done their homework, who thinks for him/her self and can backup what he/she is saying.

You make it seem like this is a big risky and brave contrarian viewpoint. IRL you would be right, but on nostr is just common circlejerk.

Show me a real non-bitcoin-related opinion of yours that is unpopular amongst bitcoiners and I'll concede you are indeed a free spirit.

“Maxis”, “Cultists”, and “Circlejerkers”. Mate you ain’t a contrarian or critical thinker you claim to be. You just get a kick out of calling people on internet names to be cool.

All I will say is God bless you! Please unfollow me.

>-No longer worried of peoples opinions.

>-Made me a better debater and deep thinker

Ironic that you now seem so bothered and fragile when I didn't directly you called you anything.

>Pease unfollow me.

Why? What difference does that make for you?

I aint worried.

You havent even got argument other than name calling me. “Maxi”, “Cultists”, “Circle Jerker” and now “Fragile”.

It’s pretty clear you only have ad hominem attacks.

And I am politely asking you stop replying as you wasting my time because this conversation is going nowhere as you fail miserable to articulate any argument.

You failed to point out where I called you names.

If you don't want to keep arguing, this is an open protocol. No need to politely ask me to unfollow you.

You can just stop replying or if you feel particularly offended, mute me forever.

You made it very clear.

Glad I could help. I hope you keep an open mind and are willing to be challenged.

Here’s tip for you. If you trying to make an argument don’t start ad hominem attacks because it means you already lost. Attack the facts not characteristics no matter how “maxi”, “cult like”, “circle jerkers” or “fragile” they come across.

Again, God bless you! You need it.

There's no ad hominem because I'm not making any logical argument.

I'm making a SUBJECTIVE characterization of piling a much of common bitcoin twitter ghospel together as potentially cultist.

It's a personal opinion, not an argument. I'm sorry if it ofends you. You are obviously entitled to disagree.

So with you its your feelings over objective truth.

I dont care how you feel. Your feelings are none of my business.

I deal with the facts of the matter.

If you didn't care about my opinion you could have just ignored me and moved on.

In my original comment I explicitly said I don't disagree with any of your points in particular.

Your Logic: Replying to you comment means I care what you have to say.

Incorrect: I get personal satisfaction exposing the contradictions of the arguments you made. Thank you for that.

What contradictions did you expose?
