i find what they are doing motivating - they have been getting cockier and cockier and are slowly losing the control of the population. They will overreach and collapse.
Its always a good time to limit your touch points with governments and spread them around to make harassment costlier and harder.
If they ever did actually overreach.. but they don't. they operate on generational timescales.
you're not wrong but i think they are starting to feel threatened - they are pushing for total speech control which was never the case, sure they always wanted it but now they are putting moms and dads in jail for saying the wrong thing on the internet and trying to fully crack down on all options for people to get away from it (example https://xiaomitime.com/eu-kills-android-bootloader-unlock-starting-august-1-59449/)
i was literally just saying the other day that they had to do this to stop normies from installing nostr and escaping the mind control penitentiary.
on the bright side, doing it to linux and desktop hardware is way way harder to achieve, because without open desktop hardware there is no developers. by definition, programmers MUST run "unauthorized" software.
uncle bob martin, mister Clean Code warned about this in a talk you can find on youtube btw. the cover story will be about liability for damage caused by software. they will include "propagating disinformation" as a damage and wham bam, thankyou, ma'am.
literally it will reach a point where the last roadblock for them is going to be the internet itself.
i doubt they are gonna achieve this before at least 10 years and i think that's gonna be too late. but that feeling of being in a siege. that's real. the enemy, most of all, is the truth about who is behind this.
