I suggest following people with different views on different topics. The experience is much better when you have a varied feed including ideas you may not agree with. You don't want an echo chamber. Start with notes you like. Follow that person. Then, look at the comments and follow people who make thoughtful remarks. Just keep doing that and you'll build up a solid feed. If you come across people you definitively don't like, people who troll, or engage in speech you find personally objectionable, you can mute them so they don't appear in your feed. It's a process, but if you stick with these guidelines, you'll be on your way to creating a great experience for yourself. Finally, don't be afraid to jump in and contribute with your own comments. Let people get to know you, and you'll end up with a great followers list over time.

And welcome to #nostr.

Go follow who your friends follow, and then prune your list once you get an idea of what it's all about.

Nice. I wonder how this changes one’s brain when they completely leave Twitter.

I’ll drop my recs tomorrow. Buenas noches.

Welcome!

Few things you should know:

1. get a check mark in #Nostr, there are few options, I suggest nostrcheck.me, once you get it, edit your profile and update your Nostr-Address, not having it will hide you in some clients

2. follow hashtags, a good way to find like minded people

3. think of your nsec as your Bitcoin private keys, act accordingly

4. chose a client that respect your privacy, meaning, you can sign in with a Signer protecting your nsec, it has TOR built in and above all, you can manage the relays you use. I suggest nostr:npub142gywvjkq0dv6nupggyn2euhx4nduwc7yz5f24ah9rpmunr2s39se3xrj0 t

5. add your lighting address in the profile so you can get zap, few options out there, I suggest nostr:npub1h2qfjpnxau9k7ja9qkf50043xfpfy8j5v60xsqryef64y44puwnq28w8ch for most people

have fun!
