nostr:npub13ql75nq8rldygpkjke47y893akh5tglqtqzs6cspancaxktthsusvfqcg7 This could potentially affect all podcasting 2.0 apps on iOS. This "rule" (bitcoin payments not allowed for donations associated with digital content) isn't even in section 3.1.1 ? I'm wondering if this decision is being made by some random reviewer or by someone higher up. What do you think nostr:npub1sg6plzptd64u62a878hep2kev88swjh3tw00gjsfl8f237lmu63q0uf63m ?

How common is periodic random reviews? This seems so weird to me.

I’m confused as to why zaps are different from a wallet? Or banking app?

Zaps aren’t an in-app purchase. What if Damus was also a non-custodial wallet? Is the problem that Damus receives a cut from zaps?

Everyone is very much on new ground with zaps.

the problem is the link between a payment (even if it is a donation) and the consumption of _digital_ content

Do Apple want 30% of the bitcoin?

Or do they want USD?

No bitcoin they want you to use their proprietary system (IAP) and pay 30%

How bingos the cut that Damus gets?

There’s a contribution slider in the settings to match zaps with app development contributions, so it’s 100% up to the user.

Normally it's from some kind of complaint or compliance check that has been requested on behalf of someone -- likely, the additional press has tied the hands of the app reviewers

It’s not all that uncommon unfortunately.

Worth fighting tho - 99.999% of zaps are definitely not tips for digital content.
