This "rule" (bitcoin payments not allowed for donations associated with digital content) isn't even in section 3.1.1 ? I’m confused as to why zaps are different from a wallet? Or banking app?

Zaps aren’t an in-app purchase. What if Damus was also a non-custodial wallet? Is the problem that Damus receives a cut from zaps?

Everyone is very much on new ground with zaps.

There’s a contribution slider in the settings to match zaps with app development contributions, so it’s 100% up to the user.

Normally it's from some kind of complaint or compliance check that has been requested on behalf of someone -- likely, the additional press has tied the hands of the app reviewers

It’s not all that uncommon unfortunately.

Worth fighting tho - 99.999% of zaps are definitely not tips for digital content.
