Important rules and details:

Every single transaction, in and out, can be tracked by its zap event of kind 9735.

The winner will be chosen at random using an open-source and fair algorithm.

The winner will be announced the following day.

95 percent of total collected sats will be automatically sent back to the winner`s Lightning Address (lud16) available in their profile metadata (make sure you have the right setup before participating)

And 5 percent of total collected sats will be kept as a fee and will be dedicated to the development of Nostr apps and tools.

Be careful not to zap older notes, as they will not be considered for this lottery.

Can #Nostr clients adopt a somewhat similar “business model”, e.g. hold a small percentage of the zaps sent from a client, maybe with a cap of 5000 sats/year (~1$/year). Or are there technical obstacles to this?

🤞 user adoption will increase enough to make it sustainable for a client to earn enough to sustain a few developers and their families.

How do Nostr dev live? Do most dev have other jobs?

I am working on a client in my free time and I’m considering applying to #[5]​ but I do not like too much the idea of relying on others generous donations.

Any input/suggestions will be greatly appreciated
