And open source
And embed a better embedded language such as Roc instead of JavaScript

The first browser, called WorldWideWeb, was actually a browser/editor.
Mosaic removed the editing functionality, and added more multi media. That lead servers to control all your data, when it should have been the users
Tim's project, Solid, aims to bring back the read and write ability to the browser. Same with nostr client side apps.
At some point it's logical to remake the first browser, and return edit functionality
GM
Yes, the solid people are doing interesting work. https://dokie.li also reminded me a lot about what we have now with highlighter.
I guess if we add some #LinkedData to nostr, we come pretty close to what solid wants to achieve.
Also a nostr craigslist
# NostrClassifieds minus the space no clue how active just something i remember
Well that was suppose to be a hashtag didnt mean to do that π

nostr:npub1utx00neqgqln72j22kej3ux7803c2k986henvvha4thuwfkper4s7r50e8 said he would fork Brave, remove the Shitcoining and integrate Lighting. But he's busy playing with other toys.
Don't forget the part where I looked into it and I realized I'm way too dumb to figure it out
Looks like #Brave is confirming efforts to bring native #Bitcoin support to Brave Wallet... I'm interested to see how this could pan out.
Nostr needs a superapp that installs all the apps and products inside it and gives access to everything nostr.
Could be several superapps. They can cite to other superapps too
SUPERNOSTR
This doesn't really make sense... There isn't a nostr browser protocol that allows dumb events to track us is there?
We pull the data we want, and don't pull what we don't want. We never interact with the data source, what could a nostr browser possibly do?
Browsers impose a very high switching cost. Most people just donβt want to deal with that. It would be a fun thing for us to play with but I wouldnβt expect any meaningful number of people rushing to it.
Can you please elaborate what those costs are?
Mental. New browser startups fail all the time.
Agree with nostr:npub1r0rs5q2gk0e3dk3nlc7gnu378ec6cnlenqp8a3cjhyzu6f8k5sgs4sq9ac. I think Ladybird is the first browser built from scratch to have a fighting chance in who knows how long. https://ladybird.dev/
Any thoughts about Impervious? Haven't really used it myself tbh.
It's ok... I used it for a while.
But we just need a Chromium fork with very good ad blockers.
Or maybe we convince Impervious to be Nostr-based.
Either, It should be just a browser, minus the ads.
GM βοΈ Brave is open source maybe someone will fork that and remove unnecessary stuff π«
Ads? No thanks.
I had a hard time comprehending your sentence, my bad. I now understand you meant blocking all these.
Isn't doing that puts more load (data) on relays?
How about phones that just donβt constantly scan our surroundings & constantly listen to everything?
Gm
Since no one wants to secure their own render they'll prob just use the default on a given OS which means Chrome or WebKit.
Can't you do it as a plugin for chrome/Firefox? Don't have to remake the whole browser.
Eu disse que nostr se parecia com um navegador e nΓ£o seria nada denovo π
Badwolf is Firefox based striped out & add blocking browser.
Easier to start almost there & get the developer on board. Librewolf is pretty good too.
Both can be made mobile friendly, well Linux mobile...!
Firefox, strict settings and fingerprint protection. With two or three addon is more than enough. I did not even remember the Web had ads.
Nostr-based in what regard?
Identity for user preferences, etc.
Would also be cool if zaps are integrated so users could effectively tip any website that supports zaps out of the box.
* no shitcoin
would a PWA not be easier for onboarding?
Tech/engineering doesnt matter for onboarding. Design does.
Must support Tor network for privacy.
Fork Kiwi, and build in a signing extension and ad blocking maybe? π€
