I was with Swan (exclusively) for about 4-6 months in the summer and fall of 2022 and had several issues

1) they changed custodians which affected my ability to access my account for several days which was fairly stressful as a relatively new BTCer

2) I was DCAing but had several short periods where I was unable to make additional impulse purchases in a timely manner due once to the custodial change and several times “system congestion”/service downtime

I opened a river account and used both in tandem for a couple of months but quickly switched most of my activity to River and I eventually let the Swan acct go dormant. Several month later Swan switched custodians for the second time and had other several controversies which finalized my decision.

I found both to have excellent customer service but felt like Swan abandoned its core principles. So far I have no regrets about switching to River except that it is kyc.

I’ve had moderate success with smaller peer to peer purchases but being late to BTC (spring 2022) I needed a company like River for larger purchases.

Hope this helps🤷🏽‍♂️🫡

River seems a great business I must say

I used them until I reached the fee free limit. It's funny that their new terms and conditions put you into Swan Private and charge a $25/month platform fee. I just opened a support ticket today to opt out. I use Strike and River instead. I'll even use cash.app before swan at this point.

Another River mover. Interesting

No everyone found it was a bunch of scammy jews that changed their names and were doing shady things.

Who?

Absolutely not. Not KYC'ing, not doxxing myself.

Nah

I kind of tried to, and it was a mess, so I had them delete my account.

Not for over a year. The platform was buggy, and the custodian change was poorly done. Plus, at one point they charged everyone if you had any BTC that was not withdrawn. I did not get hit by the fee, but still dumped them as soon as that fuckery started.
