My oldest daughter plays in the boys league. She's not in the top tier, but she holds her own. She doesn't ask for any favours, and they don't give her any. Once they start hitting she'll move over to the girl's league, but until then, she wants to play with the boys because they are bigger, faster, and stronger and that makes her work harder and get better.

There's a lesson in there somewhere :)
