What's the Schelling Point for the idea that only Net Tax Payers should get to vote in elections?

Oh yeah I’m all for that

Schelling point could be, no, not tax payers, but property owners

idk which side I'm on there

Oh boy, the shrieking would be loud. I'm down for either though.

If someone was illegally funneled to a country or on govt assistance then they don't get a say (in giving themselves more benefits) imo

The schelling point in either case is when everyone starts from zero instead of the plus or minus $150k or more who knows it's random starting points we use today

what do you mean?

I mean it's an unfair & difficult tactic only until there aren't any "born losers" or "born winners" messing up its equilibrium.

Honest work should earn a vote, even if, especially if, you don't get paid, let alone get paid fairly in real money.

I think we're worried about the downsides of different incentives

Am I hearing a return to a government elected by the land-owning men in the society?

For. It would incentivize me to actually buy some property.

I find myself going back to the primary function of government being the setting of rules and defense of property rights violations and think those incentives generally align though the specifics I'm less opinionated on as it's seems directionally correct

I loved that section from The Law where he's talking about voting rights, and how it's quite the conundrum to have voters in a system that steals money via taxation and redistributes it.

Because then everyone ought to have a say in how their money is stolen and redistributed. So if we ever want limited voting ever again, we'd need to abolish the income tax and the fed at the least.

amen

Like back in the good old days when only land owners got to vote. Ngl, people would whine, but mainly those that don’t pay taxes and those who rely on their votes by giving them free shit.

My oldest brother says to me every year around tax season. He’s a teacher in Baltimore Unified School District.

We going with net year by year or lifetime?

election cycle seems fair

Everyone operating in the USA is a net Tax Payer, whatever the fuck that means anyways.
