With the "Lightning node" app (which is lnd) I get the view secret words option. With the Core Lightning app there is no such option, how does one backup the wallet?

FYI, just 12 words isn't enough to backup your node in lightning node. You also need the channel backup files :)
I know that part. But even just to use it as an L1 wallet...
Just curiouse why would you use it just like a hot wallet?
One reason would be that its your private wallet connected to directly the bitcoin full node. Better then a phone hot wallet that connects to some other node I guess...
