The problem with ditching likes for zaps is now newcomers are scarred off.

When I first got on Nostr a month ago it all looked like a weird pyramid scheme at first 😂

This is exactly what i'm talking about. Nostr looks like to plebs what any web3 social app looks like to bitcoiners

Yup, we don't want to make such an 'echo chamber' community. Would like to see Nostr vision which based on freedom for anyone really established.

Yeah and it won't fit shitcoiners and nocoiners either. If there is sufficient demand for standard reactions, clients will either add/keep support for it or someone will maintain a fork with support for it.

That's the nice thing about nostr, you're not dependent on one client.

Yes you are right, also they are aware of be scammed because they lack of knowledge on security electronic issues.

Agree, not everyone especially 'normies' who doesn't even know much about bitcoin and lightning. Better, to encourage and educate rather than ditch and force. :)

I was thinking the same, but my thoughts on this has changed over the last week. If more mainstream on-ramps to lightning exist it will become less of an issue. Also, they can just reply with an emoji or anything.

What about the fact that they can *earn* money too?

Surely that's the best incentive.

Most people don't know how bitcoin or lightning works, they just see a risky spot to put their money

People have had a lack of understanding of how bitcoin works since it was launched. That's nothing new.

As Satoshi said, "If you don't believe me or don't get it, I don't have time to try to convince you, sorry."

We all get the price of bitcoin we deserve.
