Firefox is probably a scam.
Discussion
That’s why everyone who knows calls it Liarfox.
But but privacy
i kid of lost faith in them. ended up just switching to safari.
What did I miss and are there any other good open source recommendations?
Wait! why??
I tried everything under the sun too. Been using brave but the web 3 crap and all their additions are getting unbearable. Bounced around between edge, librefox, firefox, operagx.
Opera GX had the best performance. It's really good at resource management and it's chromium based but NO TAB GROUPING WTF... and it looks like hot garbage.
MSFT bad edge bad, Otherwise edge had the next best performance
Google track me so chrome bad
Firefox is probably a scam and neither fox options have tab grouping either.
Degoogled chromium it is.
cute fox tho
?????
It's not. It's literally the one true web browser.
What is your recommendation? I use LibreWolf and I enjoy it.
I need something with uBlock-like capability, and also with NoScript (Which blocks javascript per default, and I can change it in a fine grained way)
I HAVEN'T USED CHROME OR CHROMIUM AND WINDOWS BECAUSE I DON'T WANT TO BE SPINED BY THE GOOGLE AND MICROSOFT PEOPLE. WITHOUT FORGETTING FRANCE, WHICH ALREADY WANTS TO START AN INSTITUTIONAL PROCESS FOR ONLINE SUPERVISION OF USERS. EVEN FIREFOX IS UNDER SUSPECT! FALKON IS KDE'S BROWSER. IT SEEMS TO HAVE FEW ADVANCED FEATURES OR USEFUL THROUGH EXTENSIONS FOR THE END USER. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I like that, I didn't know it existed.
Try Brave Browser
I think this is better than Brave nostr:note1pu8hvgtjhfvw6rktdq9ekrdpp63y48jw2924dflwkk8ftfkt7thqtpq57a
What about for mobile?
😢
Browsers are a rabbit hole:
Chrome: Google spies on you
Chromium: lol, same
Egde: Microsoft spies on you
Firefox: Google spies again.
Brave: ?
I ran chromium forever until someone pointed out, that the Google tracking is very deep in the code and can't be pulled out. I cannot verify that but it was enough to make me look elsewhere
There is Ungoogled Chromium.
Uhhh... Did not know about that one yet. Reads promising
Could you elaborate a little bit more?
What it would be the purpose of the scam?
I'm curious and I want to understand
I use a mix of Firefox with very specific settings and several addons uBlock first, Tor Browser with uBlock, LibreWolf almost default and if something really need Chromium based I use Brave with shitcoin/web3 stuff disabled.
But there is not one that I would 100% trust and like in all use cases without at lease small changes or uBlock.
