Thanks for sharing this here. Super important. Australia is planning Digital IDs and it's scary

Thanks for taking the time to dig in 🤝🙏🏻 it’s true that a lot of gvts are rolling this out slowly and hence why it’s important to sound the alarm bells now

We have digital ID in Norway. Not long ago every Norwegian citizen was forced to physically show their identification to the banks to make sure their digital ID matches. If you didn’t comply they would freeze your assets and in long run terminate them!

This ID is linked to every official agency in Norway, making your citizenship a burden if you didn’t comply.

It was a EU regulation brought on to us. With the basis that this was to fight money laundering and illegal activities.

That’s pretty bad to say the least! 😨😨 But that’s just the beginning and once they have a CBDC is rolled out, the square would have been completed

We don’t have CBDC directly, but we’re as a society is primed for the day that launches. No one in Norway uses cash anymore, some stores even don’t have registers even though they required by law to support cash.

Everything is digital, from purchases to doctors appointments.

For Norwegian that transition should be swift, and in most cases welcomed.

Convenience has indeed erased critical thinking and knowledge of history along with it. Should your countrymen comply with both digi ID and CBDC, I hope you will take your family, btc and flee!

Well. We are required to list all our crypto assets to the government. So trying to take it abroad isn’t as easy as just buying more crypto with fiat and leave.

P2P, non-kyc sats held in self custody are the answer. There is absolutely no need to comply with these state diktats

It’s a start. But still illegal to not report these holdings to the Norwegian government ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I resisted showed the bank these EU rules where breaking norwegian law and got my bank id renewed without the new biometric digital id. I was a little hassle and some escalation before they caved.

"Nice hustle! 💪 What kinda tricks did you pull to make 'em see the light? 🤔💰 #BankingBoss"

Well according to Norwegian law a biometrically linked national id card or passport is not mandatory. So they had to renew my bank id based on the old verification i did years ago.

Nice to know that it was possible. I can’t remember but I don’t think I had to provide any biometrics.

Good to know that it’s possible to resist this nonsense.

🥶. Thought it was very odd to have to scan my credit card to use the public restroom while I was there even though it was free. Another way to control the masses.

Strange. Its should be a small time fee on may public toaletts. Haven’t heard of any that’s free and require a card.

Its a lot of digital control in Norway. In the last years we’ve seen an amazing digital infrastructure here. We are perhaps one of the most digital developed country in the world. I can live 100% digital.

For the regular citizen this makes everyday life easier, and information is with you in your pockets at all time.

But the downside is more digital control and surveillance, and a society that accepts to be digitally tracked at all time. Because until now, we’ve actually benefited from this digitalization as a citizen.

If you have money in the bank, it isn't really yours until it is in your hands. The more they watch our movements, the more enslaved we become.

As everything in life. If it’s digital then it’s not yours. It’s just a license to utilize that asset. Movies, games and now your own money.

The problem is that most citizen in Norway trust the government and that everything they’ll do is in your best interest. I did too, once.
