Losing weight is insanely easy. You don’t need to ask experts, you don’t need a diet plan. It’s simply understanding how many calories you need as a baseline and then going into a calorie deficit. Calories in vs calories out. It’s just about discipline - most ppl love to eat, and they think giant portion sizes are normal. “You wear in public what you eat in private”
Discussion
It’s a multi billion dollar industry bc ppl are lazy and want a quick fix. They want to be told it’s not their fault. Well who’s fault is it? The only thing we really have control of is our lifestyle
Simply fasting will obviously lose weight. But most ppl do not have the will power and will argue oh that’s unhealthy or oh that’s not try! It’s not that easy! Bros have 30 pounds of straight fat they can live off without taking another bite for a month but yes they need to eat 3 times everyday
True
Yes, simply eat less, the most obvious advice ever that seems to be challenged by every lover of gluttony on the internet ever
“They” want ppl fat, lazy, and unaccountable. Easier to control. Die faster. More money spent on healthcare and big pharma. Once you understand their intentions and goals, the “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” mantra makes a lot of sense. Always do the opposite- intermittent fast and *gasp* skip breakfast instead. The food pyramid they shilled makes sense. Just keep blindly following the experts advice, anon. They clearly care about you
The goal is clear, the method is a bit more tricky.
Simple, but not easy.
That’s why there’s so much money in the industry trying to sell you the Easy method
This has actually been discredited in recent years.
It’s not wrong in the strictest sense, but the macronutrient makeup of the caloric energy has a ton of bearing on how your body processes it (or doesn’t).
The data seems to show that insulin sensitive (healthy) people can lose weight in a simple calorie deficit, but insulin resistant (sick) people can’t. In order to lose weight, these people need to specifically cut carbs and get their body’s insulin response back in order.
In other words the simple, common sense approach that works for you actually won’t work for the fat, sick, unhappy, diabetic people you’re disgusted by.
The best books on this are Brain Energy and Why We Get Sick

Yeah broooo it’s soooo complicated actually sick ppl lose weight by eating a lot!
Sick people can lose weight eating as much cheese and meat as they want as long as they don’t eat carbs… in ketosis your body literally pisses out the excess energy as ketones instead of putting it on your body as fat but go off king
And to your point about willpower… not counting anything, just eating as much as you want to when you’re hungry (as long as it’s not carbs) is much less taxing on the willpower so it’s easier to stick to
Supplement your strongly held opinions with an actual book or two on metabolism, that’s all I’m saying
Few understand that what you eat affects how much you “burn”. Thinking only about how much you eat is not always sufficient. You can continue to eat less but if your metabolism down regulates and “burns” less calories as a result you won’t see a difference. Becoming metabolically healthy and increasing basal metabolic rate by increasing muscle mass is a better advice than simply to eat less, even tho the latter can be effective in many cases
Yes exactly. Another key part of metabolism is insulin resistance which we are barely beginning to really understand as well. Also, the metabolic realities of mental health… if “count calories and have more willpower” was the solution, you wouldn’t see dramatically different rates of obesity and chronic diseases across different cultures. Why are certain populations way better off than others? It’s not calorie intakes
People keep biting on this note
Yes that is a pun
And drop the seed oils.
That shit slows your mitochondria. Your body becomes super efficient & starts storing fat.
Look at what they feed to pigs to get them to put on weight - don't eat that shit.

I agree that losing weight is easy, and to some degree calorie deficit works in human youth. It doesn’t work well with age when the cells in your body get desensitized to the effects of insulin through decades of internal blood sugar management. Periods of gastrointestinal rest with fasting are essential to long term human health. The medical complex knows his, but wellness is not what they do, perpetual triage for bad life decisions is.
