Yep, sums it up perfectly.

💯

Curious what are your recent thoughts on those and the other spam, and whether anything should be done with filters to discourage it all, and at least acknowledge it as spam?

Also wonder if you have seen nostr:npub1hghnjjpnvkz8t6gkszuf37d7puwc2qtxc65rnklqsngzv6kkug9qhhfyz2’s posts following the money behind some of it, indicating it is likely an attack, and not just ‘using bitcoin’?

I think filters would be unsuccessful, although people can use whatever filter they want. I don’t support softforks or things to limit it.

In general I think it’s important to keep bitcoin “dumb” because that’s important for security. But there will always be some ways to get arbitrary data into it and some of it is useful. Fees help determine spam from subjective value over a long enough timeframe but the base layer needs to be kept simple.

Beautiful

Twitter sounds awful

Dickbutts are an affinity scam on the future Wikileaks-esque inscriptions we’ll inevitably see

How is it a scam? It’s just lower signal to noise right?

Flood the bandwidth with nonsense to dilute the real

what is timechain
