Which client are you using? Amethyst on Android only allows wss:// and not ws://

That explains amethyst. Also not working with Iris

The Amethyst ws problem is reported here: https://github.com/vitorpamplona/amethyst/issues/91

I am running Amethyst and ws:// is working for me. 🤔

Oh I think I accidentally found a workaround. Use Iris to add the ws:// URL to your relay list and click "Save relays publicly." The relay should now appear in Amethyst with the correct ws:// prefix.

How do you solve this when you are outside your local network? I have an umbrel relay ...

Have a look into Tailscale. It's available in the Umbrel app store. Let's you create a VPN so your devices can talk to each other wherever they are.

Thanks!

Oh, the irony!!

In order to use a 'private relay' it must connect in an insecure way.

Ty!
