I successfully diagnosed and fixed a problem with my truck with no outside input. It ended up being the tensioner pulley for the serpentine belt. So not a hard fix but I am just happy I was able to figure it out on my own.

I don’t grow up learning how to fix or diagnose car issues. My parents would just get new cars every couple of years. So over the last few years I have tried to figure this stuff out myself. I still have a long way to go.

Well done! Doing something yourself is it’s own reward.

Agreed I was a little surprised too since I need to usually ask someone.

Good on you for learning.

Thank you

Always a good feeling! Nice to see more diy automotive peeps on nostr.

I've taught myself through owning worn out vehicles. I learned piece by piece, upon the failure of each. I'm at the point now where I want to assemble my own car from the ground up.

That would be super cool. I have thought in the future I want to build up a truck and use the electric conversion kit for trucks from Edison motors to have a diesel electric truck that I build.

I've been eyeing ethanol conversion kits. Grow your own fuel!

That seems interesting. I haven’t seen that before.
