Not your server, not your rules.

How do you store your nsec?

I personally keep mine in a KeePassXC database (which I feel is pretty secure) but interested to see what others thinkโ€ฆ

I need a better way to store mine. It's not safe in my notes on my phone.

It's probably not... But at least you have it saved outside of your client. Use a password manager and put it in there?

Yeah there are definitely other ways to go about it. If you want something thatโ€™s also accessible outside the Apple ecosystem (assuming you are on iOS), KeePass is a great option in my opinion - it also allows you to keep your password vault offline.

I'm using android. Lost my iPhone in Germany and never looked back ๐Ÿ˜”

I used KeyPass for almost two decades. It's great.

I still use keepass!

And now I feel like a clown shoe spelling it incorrectly. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Sometimes I lowkey wish we had the ability to edit notes

Or at least have the key stored on an external/removable media like USB sticks.

A password manager and an encrypted file.

Hmm, I just found #cryptmount as a Linux package. Let's try this. Currently some keys are stored plain-text but at least on a #LUKS -encrypted /home/ RAID1 (yes, you can chain that) where the #GnuPG key is stored on an USB stick.

Okay, that was easy! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

i cringe when people compare the nsec to only a password; it is an identity -- protect it like one

my nostrcon talk will cover an intro to cryptography so we can normalize the nsec

good comparison

Those asymmetrical cyphers mmmm

My nsec, my choice. โœŠ๐Ÿป

Very well said ๐Ÿ‘
