This is not an argument in favor of using X over Nostr. This is an acknowledgement of the reality that we face attracting users/creators/artists to come here and stay here. I believe Nostr is better by leaps and bounds. I also recognize that paying the bills and saving for the future is something everyone has to do.

I am not him so I donโt know how X calculates it. ๐ But itโs revenue sharing from the platform, no doubt from ads. Agree or disagree with the source, itโs not an insignificant amount. This is what nostr is competing with.

My issue is the amount of time it takes to gain a following and enough engagement. Itโs all about consistency and performing for the platformโs rules/algo. Starting from scratch, nostr is probably better in the long run. But Iโm just saying I can see why someone who is established wouldnโt want to just give it up.
Maybe 6 months of consistency at least. Could be done. Especially if they already do it on twitter. Easier said then done I guess
Just from my own experience it would take longer than that, unless youโre an established personality. Someone like Odell or Lyn could probably build a large following quickly because theyโre already known so well.

Agreed. We attract people by having the best apps with the most utility. Twitter is a Goliath with tenure, itโs going to take time and spreading the word to create the user base. Give em the purple pill before the orange pill if we want to appeal to the masses.
I believe that attracting consumers of content is more important than attracting creators of content. With a few good creators you attract thousands of good consumers. But most normies who are new to nostr don't even own bitcoin and get their first sats on nostr. We need to zap more consumer normies and have them become excited about nostr and become marketers and onramps.
X rewards creators for attracting eyes but there is no reward on X for the content consumer besides the content. Content on nostr is just as good as on X if not better. We must just zap more normies to show appreciation for their support and engagement.

Content creators on X treat their following like a statistic. Why care? X pays you. Not the follower.
On nostr we pay each other directly peer to peer. The consumer of content has a much better mutual respect coming from the creator.
I must confess that I don't mind pissing off everyone and not get zapped ever. I did not join nostr to extract value but to add. (And chew bubblegum) It just happens that I keep having sats to zap around because I keep getting zapped.
New content consuming bitcoiners will have to survive a cycle or two before they can meaningfully show appreciation to their favourite creators. We must measure the growth of nostr in halving cycles.
PS: I wonder if there is a way to measure which political orientations are more inclined to spread zaps around? I am willing to bet that the right are more generous than the left.
show me how to be and what would it take to become a successful used case of a daily Nostr user (that I already am and have been for 11 months straight, posting and engaging), building from the ground up to reach that level with less traffic and volume (as it is simply lacking on Nostr rn), but that can attract the influencer interest to migrate. What content do you want? do you need me to share a daily podcast? a daily inspirational quote?
