How many relays is too many? Do you think there’ll be a point where mini relay networks become prevalent enough that we need some sort of caching relay that essentially just sits and pulls from all your relays and compiles that data into a super efficient dataset for you to consume?

Caching service is primal approach.

Outbox is the more difficult to implement, less centralized approach

Very cool! Thanks for the link.

Apparently 3 is enough

I only write to 1 relay. My own.

The blastr in the relay takes care of getting the note out to the rest of the nodes that choose, could be 100 or more if you want.

I have one relay too, custom build of wot-relay with propagation implemented to share notes from my pubkey with other connected relays 👍

This looks awesome!! Thanks for the link! Might spin it up myself.

Yes. I think Umbrel and Start9 are on the right tracks... a device that can be located on your private property, with an easy UI.

My wishlist for these things would be: lower cost, meshtastic or 802.11 mesh, reticulum, more hardware modularity (I.e. hot slottable CPU's), and perhaps intercomparability (common standard?).
