If i send you ecash you cant stop it πŸ˜…

you still can swap it immediately. If not possible, give that back to the sender and decline the zap.

I don’t accept shitcoins πŸ˜‚

What do you suppose the % is of people receiving zaps to a self-custody wallet, and zapping from self-custody?

I would wager is it somewhere around 1% already, ecash or not, and I doubt that is going to change unless some massive leap is made that suddenly results in self-custody lightning being 1000% more approachable.

Yeah unfortunately everyone on here using custodial wallets! I hope BOLT12 will fix this !

BOLT12 could go a long way, but there is still the issue of needing to be always online to receive, and managing liquidity, which many struggle to wrap their minds around, let alone want to deal with.

There are automated liquidity management services, but they have costs associated with them, and users often end up getting hit with unexpected on-chain fees, because they don't understand how liquidity works.

Lightning is incredible, but UX for self-custody has a long way to go, and some of the problems I am unsure whether there are possible solutions for, because they are related to the fundamentals of how Lightning works.

Most nostr users already use custodial lightning πŸ’©

Why werent they already doomed?

Some of them will get rugged.

Some will discover self custody.

You can’t graduate until you learn.

It’s still a net positive.

I don't necessarily disagree

I'm just asking what would the difference be? If anything Ecash is an improvement over the current state of custodial lightning.

It is, especially for new users, since you don’t have to download a separate app to start using it.
