Crystal is the very best typical hot sauce.
Never heard of it, will try if it's cheap and tasty. I went with Cholulu because it's "good enough" to be a daily driver, and cheap in bulk. I know there are many better kinds but we po' folk round heya
Crystal is pretty cheap! It’s just not at every store. Ones I know carry it, at least in NC / VA: Harris Teeter, Publix, Wegmans. It comes from Louisiana; maybe it’s a southern thing?
Anyway, it’s good on everything hot sauce is good on, and in particular makes (in combination with butter) the BEST homemade buffalo sauce for wings.

It’s not necessary, but you can boost sauce adhesion by making a light, butter-heavy roux with the butter as a first step.
Not a huge fan of Cholula personally, but Tabasco on eggs is baller. I like the green Tabasco on more general stuff. Red Tabasco or Louisiana brand on pizza is also amazing. Makes getting down to the crust more palatable. But I don't eat pizza much anymore. 🙌
On my braver days I put a couple drops of tabasco scorpion sauce atop the beef. Green is good too. I'm on a budget. Lol
