There is no great trick. They just have to decide to prioritize freedom and privacy. To that end, explaining how iPhone and stock android really do impede freedom, has led several to make that decision.

Ive gone so far as to by friends phones and install Graphene for them myself. At the end of the day, learning a new phone is work, and they have to want it, or they'll never do the work.

Sure, one thing that really helps normies is to dispelled the Apple privacy lies. Normies think Apple is private and think the data on their phone is theirs alone (family photos, SMS messages, etc) because Apple markets it that way.

If you explain that iPhone does not keep your data private, it only limits use of your data by Apple and its 'data sharing partners', normies tend to recognize the corporate shenanigans and sometimes they'll ask "what can I do if I don't want Apple to have access to ". Thats when you can bring up Calyx and Graphene (although I usually promote the latter first) as practical ways to enjoy a smartphone without handing over your data to Apple or Google.

The key is, most normies just take Apple at face value of "being private". If you can get them to dig a bit deeper and realize that's just marketing bs, then most rational people will reconsider why they are even using Apple in the first place

What I said above. Specifically about photos, contacts, chats, etc that normies think are private, but actually are not.
