"Saltburn" was an excellent film. Kept me intrigued and interested the whole time. Legit made me feel emotions. All the characters feel real. The situations are believable. The message impactful.

But at no point did I question my own sanity. 0/10 surreal factor. Up your weirdness game, nostr:nprofile1qqsd3uut39959acqsvzua0chkjyj2e20y2ccp3vxrwq3g8uqenmjsjqpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcpr9mhxue69uhk6un9vd5x2etnv5hryvtdd9kzumt99ulagzzn

How disturbing was it? I was told it was pretty good, but may be too much for me. Like on a scale of requiem for a dream?

That's a effective scale. Requiem is a harsh movie, good though.

I canโ€™t watch it again. Iโ€™m wayyyy too similar to the crazy old lady who thought she was on a game show ๐Ÿ˜‚

Agreed, it's not a rewatch film.

Once is enough ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜‚

Not like PTSD disturbing, but for sure make-you-blush disturbing. Extremely well-made, though.

Ugh idk from that if I can handle it ๐Ÿ˜‚

I survived it. Looking back, it was really good but there were some unexpected ๐Ÿค” kinks in it...

It's top tier in terms of shining light on modern economic injustices

That one scene made me gag!

Ok Iโ€™m not watching then. If a sick fuck like you can gag, I canโ€™t handle it ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's no worse than that gay orgy hotel ass eating show y'all watch.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Saltburn in spite of the one scene. And it was really only the initial shock of that one scene. But that other ahow just sounds like making porn mainstream and well...ew.

White lotus had some like shocking stuff, but nothing that would like give me nightmares the way that requiem and clockwork did. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™m trying to gauge about salt burn.

I wouldn't call any of this movie nightmare inducing. None of it is gory or over the top. It's a very real movie and not a slasher or shock for the sake of shock movie. There is a scene that makes the men particularly uncomfortable but it just kinda gave me a bit of ick.

Oo then maybe I could watch it

I think you could. It's nowhere near Requiem. Even the overall depravity was presented in a very British package.

I also had a bad reaction to baby reindeer, idk if yall watched that

Never saw that one. This is just out there on the physically and psychologically gross end of the scale.

Yeah... ๐Ÿคข

Maybe it's not sanity-breaking, but it is definitely a "WTF did I just watch" vibe.

Or maybe my sanity is more fragile. ๐Ÿ˜‚

If anyone can wax poetic on grave-humping, it's him. He watched it with us, and I remember the "UUUGGHHH??!! AAAAAAAHHH!?!? WHHUUUUHHHH??? noises everybody was making.

I knew exactly what I watched though, at the end it all makes perfect sense. Not like Lynch where he's like, "now this character is the physical manifestation of the emotion jealousy, floating in the sea of consciousness in a transcendental meditative fugue state, so they should be played by a different actor, but we'll repeat the scene and make everything purple. The audience will figure it out." Lol

Yeah I think I recommended it at the tail end of a discussion on Lynch sanity-questioning stuff, but it doesn't really belong in that category.

Anyway, let me know when you want to come clean my tub drain. I got it loaded up for you.

It is a horrible piece of some of the most talented filmmaking I have seen in years. Incredibly acted, awesome cinematography, understated and non intrusive sound track. I hated it. I hated the tub scene. I hated the grave molestation. I laughed at the naked mansion dance. I still havenโ€™t forgiven the pot stirring piece of human effluvia that recommended it.

Worth a watch! Once, then go back to a virtuous life, secure in the knowledge your heart and mind are not the same fever dreaming landscape of broken modernity that spawned such a thing.
