Ok, nobody is gonna post today, eh? Fine, fuck it, we'll do it live!

Let's see... it's been a decent year, standard start, but some good stuff in the latter half, with promising trajectory into the new year, going on with work.

What else...? Been listening to more electronic music again, which is cool.

Read a good number of books. A stand out was the collection of Orwell Essays, highly recommended. There was also a math/philosophy book that I found incredible, but it's limited appeal and a bit technical to recommend.

Bitcoin, while ending flat-ish is doing its thing, keeping a price level you can't really be mad at. I am starting to strongly believe some type of price suppression or paper BTC shenanigans are afoot. Will Saylor be the next "big hero" to fall? Leaning that way, seems a sacrifice is always needed, though they usually precede bears, don't they? Fak!

That's all I got. Shouldn't send, but nobody will see anyway.

GM YODL. I'm up early. Cheeseball on the move.

Is that code for taking a shit?

You're a codebreaker!

Yes...one of my many, many talents.

I feel I should be doing something, but not sure what it is, yet. Feel pretty rested, got some energy, but just wanted to nostr and its pretty dead

I didn't plan on waking at 5am today. Not sure what I'll do either. Right now I'm waiting on the coffee ☕

Think I'll read something I'm behind on completing. Lemme know what you end up doing

Probably fire up the projector and watch the original Star Wars trilogy today. It's a year end tradition. Something to wind down with after the hectic days are over.

Sounds like a great idea

Interesting tradition. Despite my pfp, not actually a huge fan. Just a regular enjoyooor.

You have a projector? Like from pc to tarp, modern thing?

Yeah, I've got an 1080p projector and a decent screen, a bit older but it still works great. Sometimes it's nice to watch movies on a huge canvas. I find it makes them feel more like real movies rather than LCD screens too.

I read every word sir. I am well versed in my Orwell too. What’s your fav essay? I love the vast majority of Orwell’s writing. My personal fav is Burmese Days. But The Cleryman’s Daughter is a close second. Please tell me more about your Orwell readings and electronic music noodlings. If I may recommend the next thing you read, it would be Time for a Tiger by Anthony Burgess. There are free PDFs online.

I'm sorry for that. Just finished end of mix 43, then all of the new one, 44. Wish I had an easier way to flag tracks that stand out in my Spotify. Searching around is a pain...is there a good music identification app, like Shazam, that I should start using? I should have thought of this sooner!

As for Orwell, I can't remember the names of any, so lemme look them up a bit and get back to you in a moment

As for the essays, Killing an Elephant, The Hanging and Politics and the English language are standout essays. Tons of good writing for the Guardian too

Burmese days is a book, it seems. Haven't read. Was thinking about the hanging short story though, that was a good one. I really like the Freedom of Press eaasy (see linked note), though I'd read it prior to listening to the collection.

I enjoyed his reviews/take-downs of famous authors quite a bit. Talk about a good reviewer! 😮‍💨

Can't think of any single essays now, probably need to reread them all (audio) sometime soon. I was constantly impressed by his insight and writing skill though.

As far as music, it's all over the place, but last set of stuff I've been digging was Luigi Tozzi, Claudio PRC, Rrose, ERP, VC-118A, Pontiac StreatorLeafar Legov, Tim Man...based on quick skim of recent-ish plays

Burmese Days is Orwell’s first novel, and it’s criminally underrated imo. Love it. Make sure you read Time for a Tiger by Burgess.

Ok. Adding to mental list. Been meaning to read a very short (unrelated to this convo) story, called I Have No Mouth But I Must Scream. Maybe I'll find audio and listen on my walk. May not be ideal material though, as it's a very dark horror about AI gone rogue and tormenting humans, from what I've gathered

Short stories kick it. I am a big big fan. Have you read Dubliners by James Joyce?

No... I could only understand Portrait of Young Artist, which I read in high school. Think I tried venturing into another, and Ulysses (impenetrable, though I know you're doing a read...listened to one, but not sure I have it in me rn to continue), and assumed the rest was out of my ability to enjoy.

Dubliners good/simple enough?

Dubliners is the simplest of Joyce’s work. That said, it is amazing. You should keep going with the Ulysses pods. Super rewarding in the long run

I'll consider it

This mix is still one of my all time faves for some reason (bear in mind I don't have THAT much exposure to mixes as those who really follow music, but some!)

Good morning ✌️🧡

I see 👀 and agree that we should sacrifice some podcasters.

I'm aiming bigger. Saylor or Armstrong!

Old school.

Yes..YYYESSS. Blood for the blood Gods!

Base 60 is even more based! Supposedly our overlords hid this from us back in the day, for fear such knowledge was too powerful for our own good. Something like that, I may be mixing random stories up. I do know that early ocean navigators kept their trigonometric ways close to the vest. Probably for job security and to keep their mystique

I’m all about that based.

They wouldnta done it if it didn't work

How do we pick which to sacrifice though?

Most listeners?

Highest price prediction?

Fanciest hairdo?

Virgins only?

Most airtime given to Sammy devs or macro talk.

As a percentage.

Something to appease the Bitcoin gods?

You know it

I love this gif

New Year's bonfire 🔥

Glad you are having a great year thus far! Hopefully bitty breaks from this trading range soon to the upside 🙂

Yeah, that's really the only missing piece. Small thing, really....any day now haha.

Just did a 50 min walk, feels good.

Very nice. I'm walking later on as I woke up late hahaha

5k steps here. Gym later. Starting the "new year" early lfg

This is the way brother 💪

I had a good year as well. I grew the majority of my food, kept in shape, and read a bunch of good books.

Just started the Mouth story, found audio on YouTube. Daaamn. Only 15 /40 minutes in.

Kinda bizarre

I'm liking it. Had to pause for now, as house woke up, but soon I'll finish it. The detail is good. Did you check out other writings? Worth a look?

GM GREAT YEAR INDEED 💜

Indeed! The more chaos, the more we thrive!
