I find the nation state and corporate treasury adoption story pretty boring.

It’s not because I disagree with it. Once a liquid asset reaches this scale, it’s natural for larger entities to want to own it.

A lot of people actively *don’t want* those big entities to buy it, which I think is kind of delusional since it’s a permissionless asset. Those anti-treasurers don’t find it boring; it’s their new thing to argue against.

And yet at the same time I have little interest in talking about them buying it. Yes, I think more of them will over time.

So I just find the topic boring. Neither for or against. Would rather focus on other uses of bitcoin.

Of course nation-states and other criminals will use Bitcoin. It just baffles me that any Bitcoiner would go out of their way to actively *encourage* it!

Their adoption only makes me ponder just how regretful so many of my friends will be that I shared the good news with them and they failed to do the work when they could have bought 5-digit BTC.

Building and educating is what matters, not repeating the “global adoption” mantra.

This

for the people who have been here since the beginning i think it’s an incredibly validating moment because it’s a step towards Bitcoin as a global reserve currency, which was always prophesied, but 10 years ago seemed impossible

It depends on your religious views, I think. In certain ones it is important to ensure that everyone is not corrupt, not criminal and saved.

in other spiritual beliefs, it’s important to reduce suffering …

Question 1: are you suggesting these two religious views are different in their outcomes?

Question 2: how does making criminals and corrupted ones understand and become Bitcoiners relate to the topic of religious goals, in your opinion?

I think my main thought is, by making the economic system more fair and balanced (via Bitcoin vs. USA fiat only) is a pretty sure fire way to reduce a certain type of suffering for a lot of people.

Your comment about how in some religious views “it is important to ensure that everyone is not corrupt, not criminal and saved.“

…. how do you ensure that? People make their own choices?

I actually wasn’t sure how your comment related to the topic … but it made me think of other spiritual worldviews

Fix the money, fix the world

My main comment was to nostr:nprofile1qqsw4v882mfjhq9u63j08kzyhqzqxqc8tgf740p4nxnk9jdv02u37ncpz4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezumtpd35kutn0dekqz9rhwden5te0dehhxarjwdshganp9ehx2aqkrad8w, trying to suggest that the wish to push BTC to a global currency status is perhaps motivated by the hope and believe that one day we all will be saved [of death(debt, corruption)], speaking from a Christian point of view.

So you’re saying, “nation state and corporate treasury adoption” is *not* boring because it is part of the path for Bitcoin to become global currency (and not just lumped in with other risk assets). … but … then this is somehow connected with enabling a more Utopian society based on the values of Christianity?

Your other comment with the catchphrase “fix the money, fix the world” makes sense. I guess that’s why it is a popular catchphrase.

Anyways, GN 💤😴

Yes and No.

I am saying that, maybe, the reason why so many vouch for the state adoption is not only the appraisal of being the winner in the end, but perhaps also, at least for some individuals with faith - the potential to purify human soul of a cancer of ego. I think that is what nostr:nprofile1qqsg86qcm7lve6jkkr64z4mt8lfe57jsu8vpty6r2qpk37sgtnxevjcpzdmhxw309akx7cmpd35x7um58g6rsd3eqy28wumn8ghj7ct9va5hxtn4w3ux7tn0dejsgxtdrz also thinks is one of the functions of Bitcoin acceptance.

Oh like this post that Jeff Booth reposted? nostr:note19xrmz7gj88znp6ux8pchyyzwredch45828rnnnxmzeuh5mjnwu9qnvvqn3 (via Bitcoin Apex).

I totally agree actually. I can see how that has happened for me on a individual scale.

That actually is very intriguing and exciting. I think that’s always been possible even when people are “poor” though … but I’ve also see in my own life, how the toxic cultures of higher education and workplaces can exacerbate divisions. It sucks. Hence, the “broken system” phrase.

Not just this post, in general i think that's Jeff's proclamation.

David Bohm has many years ago pointed that our thinking creates fragmentation where there is none and sees wholeness when there is none as well.

I’ve read posts with similar sentiments on Reddit, in the subreddits of r/antiwork, r/leanFIRE, r/simpleliving, and r/adulting.

The slightly frustrating thing for me reading those posts is that nobody mentions Bitcoin. That’s why I’m liking Nostr. Those same topics are discussed, but with the inclusion of Bitcoin.

So basically everyone’s complaining about wanting more relaxation time for themselves …

it also gets repeatedly pointed out by people who have financial independence that - the problem shifts from ‘surviving’ to ‘thriving’, as in, having meaning and purpose in their daily life.

I’ve read a few posts from basically some newly rich person going, “now I’m bored!” haha

That's called being on the path of enlightenment

Like freedom 🫂

More interesting: the convergence of Bitcoin, AI, and the larger “FreedomTech” landscape.

What happens when an unstoppable force - the ever-increasing competence of machines - meets an immovable object, absolute scarcity?

A bitcoin standard is the best check against runaway AI.

But that protection is proportional to how wide and deep bitcoin adoption is.

Do not forget that those who train those machines are usually stupid, ignorant and arrogant in every other way but the one that they know. Hence, the ever-increasing competence part seems not too little of a stretch :)

The boring part reminds me of what I once heard nostr:nprofile1qqsttvnpjka059akcl97qyqt9yvwc0z7z6xwfaqrxl08dag89l8sffcppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp058fmcr say, (paraphrasing) I wish for the time that Bitcoin becomes boring.

As it becomes such a normal part of everyones life that it's just boring.

Let's make Bitcoin boring 😅

If the thing that will catapult us from 1% adoption to hyperbtc is boring then I can’t imagine what story you think it’s interesting. Couldn’t be africans buying bananas with ecash

Exactly my feelings.

Treasuries of different forms will buy the 3 layer wrapped bitcoin, which will raise it's price some. Sure, but if bitcoin isn't used by individuals to level the field, to have fair money, to save in something that doesn't inflate away ... then why bother? If bitcoin isn't used by people to transact peer to peer, then at some point even the ETFs will realize that there actually isn't that much value after all.

The end game of bitcoin is no one will talk about it.

They will just use it in everyday life.

Yes it will be boring🥱

Nation states adoption is just one of the milestones.

Let’s embrace enjoy the process🤟🏻

Yes, I see some bitcoiners and nocoiners alike misinterpret or misunderstand permissionlessness.

"Bitcoin is money for your enemies" is such an important thing for everyone to understand, as is why that phrase is an endorsement.

I think it is self evidently not a good thing for the USG to own a significant % of all the coins.

Being against then doing as they have done does not imply revoking their coins at the network level either.

Saylor owns like 2,5% so… whats worse

no fan of that either for basically the same reason

What's a significant percentage?

6 digits

It's self evidently not a good thing for the government to own .5% of the supply? Really?

theoretically time until adoption matters, because bitcoin could loose its first mover advantage and get flippening-ed

🤣🤣🤣

I agree Lyn. The two biggest sources of alpha in our lives will be front running stacking #bitcoin before the institutions ramp up purchasing to scale and borrowing inflating fiat currency against deflating sound money without having to sell down Bitcoin. Both preserve purchasing power and maximize self sovereignty. Everything else is just a blip on the journey

Theres only one true use for bitcoin and thats the absolute scarcity

I find it so boring I enjoyed this post 𝙖𝙣𝙙 didn't read it. 👍

A lot of people actively *don’t want* those big entities to buy it, which I think is kind of delusional since it’s a permissionless asset. Those anti-treasurers don’t find it boring; it’s their new thing to argue against.

👏👏👏👏👏 Great observation. It’s an open permissionless protocol. Anyone can buy it and hold it.

I’m of the understanding that all the worlds currencies collapse into bitcoin therefore any nation state that wanted a good/service to be to be produced or performed for that state they will have to pay in bitcoin. So if you want your country to have things they gonna need Bitcoin, unless of course you also believe that the nation states all disappear with their currencies and we have one peaceful world without borders.

Yes. The last bit….👁️

All of this. Couldn’t agree more. Sometimes people just like to take position just to argue it.

I couldn't agree less. I find it utterly fascinating how this is all playing out.

💯

2046

Like talking about the growth of a tree perhaps? It’s nice to see it growing, but everyone is really just excited about the fruit that the tree will soon bear as a result of that growth. Boring and exciting at the same time imo.

Encouraging everyday people to DCA is the best way to further Bitcoin's potential to help promote justice and economic freedom. The entities focused on amassing wealth and power are going to do what they do. If you're a true believer try to onboard friends at the lowest price possible.

Pensions! are now exciting. Hooray for old people who worked as public servants.
