Just one day at a time and no judging yourself 🤙

It's not about motivation. It's about discipline.

And that amounts to self control and will

A good gym buddy helps

Rather the pain of discipline now then the pain of regret tomorrow. The fear of getting old and sick gets me going pretty easily 😅

Do a single pushup

👆🏻 This. It works for me. I installed a bar for pull-ups in the corridor of my home I do that and sometimes just one push-up. But most of the time when you started you do more :)

Take some time off. Instead of gym, go for an walk. Motivation will eventually come back.

Biometric devices (I use a whoop) holds me accountable and gets my fat ass to the gym 4x a week. Highly recommend getting a 🤖 🧠 on your wrist.

Remembering to love yourself, you are threatening you with good habits.. and sometimes it's though to love ourselves each day, speaking for experience. 😅

Get one of those bikes with electric power generation and a bitaxe attached to it.

Fucking sign of the times lol Great idea

Gym burnout is real. Try something more playful ie. climbing/bouldering, swimming, surfing, biking, slack lining, gymnastics/dance, etc, or sport in general. Get lost in it.

Make the gym a secondary/complimentary fitness source to improve something you love doing.

I think it's more about discipline and building a habit, over motivation.

Often, I don't feel like working, but I still do it. To get going, I go through my warm up routine. Once that's done, I might as well keep going and get the whole workout done.l

Can you give some more context as to what you mean by “lost it all”? (Lost weight, fat, health, money, time?!)

What’s most important is that you’re enjoying the physical activity you’re partaking in. If you’re not enjoying a sweat inducing heart throbbing workout in the iron paradise, try something else.

The diet is a bit tricky but if your reason is strong enough, you can say No to anything 🫶

Just start doing it, Isa! 🫂

Something is wrong if your mind/body is telling you this. Perhaps you have gone too hard. I enjoy exercise and eating right.

Try to reassess what is considered "Healthy". I thought Carnivore was the way to go (High Protein, High Fat, Low Carb).

I was eating exclusively Meat and Low Carb Dairy and was at my heaviest. Had temporary stage 2 Hypertension after Eating when doing OMAD. Also became borderline prediabetic.

Went back to a Low-Fat, High Carb, WFPB diet that I had in College, excluding Meat and Dairy to get my biomarkers back into a normal range. Lost 30lbs of excess weight, consistent Blood Sugars of below 100 mg/dL after fasting for 8hrs. BP is normal, even after eating.

I'm not telling anyone what to do, perhaps something works for you that didn't work for me. Be open to being wrong about some strong beliefs.

Don't go to the gym. F the gym. But make daily exercise and movement a habit. Let nature be thy gym: walking running sprinting or riding a bike in the sun while listening to podcasts 👌 Buy kettlebells or dumbbells a pull-up bar, jump rope, yoga mat etc - let thy home be thy gym 😀

As far as diet goes get angry. Angry that you have been lied to about what is healthy and recommended to eat by our government and so called experts. Refuse to eat their slop, sludge and chemicals that only make you sick and weak just like they want you.. Get angry, F them. Eat whole unprocessed foods like beef, cheese, kefir along with moderate healthy carbs.

Once you get angry and make this a habit it becomes very easy, and your body and mind will thank you.

CrossFit can be amazing. A lot of gyms have a great social component. I’m made some great friends through it.

Lost what?

All your limbs?

I would recommend going in the search for good reliable plant medicine. Specifically psychedelics.

But in my experience you can start enriching your diet systematically.

I mean by adding natural herbs and suplements that make your body richer and balance and regulate your hormones. (know your hormone cycles aswell)

A couple of them might be:

Ginseng

Peruvian Maca

Cordyceps militaris.

Those three for example will trade your relationship with effort. When your hormones are balanced enough, you enjoy strain and controled stress. When that happens you trade the difficult feeling for pleasure.

And it can be accomplished by adding those to your diet. Take them very regularly, at the same time in the morning every day. Peruvian Maca is my very best because it is also so nutritious.

So if you get pleasure out of moving and performing excercise, there is momentum you have to take advantage of.

Then in the psychological aspect I would use magic mushrooms microdosing. That would take you to a "Why not?" learning playing state. And teach you a lot in the way. (mushrooms are masters)

Then I would change all the feng-shui in the house. All the disposition of things and stuff and furniture. I would create space for relating myself to the floor, like a mat or carpet. I would hide technology and distractors. I would get closer and obvious a couple of dumbells or whatever excercise gear you would like to use.

Make it obvious, make it available, make it attractive. And do the opposite to the things that are taking life away from you.

Then be compassionate to yourself. Know that every little thing makes a whole difference. 100% different. Even one squat. Even failing at an excercise schedule. Go look for differences. Even tiny ones. Treat yourself with love respect and understanding.

I will repeat this: Every little difference makes a 100% difference, and it compounds exponentially. That creates momentum.

But after all, you want to create systemic changes in which you can have an enviroment and a body and a psychology that invites you to move.

This you can only create if you can imagine yourself being different and a better version. And when mind friction comes between you and that ideal you just don't hear it. Don't feed it. Don't pay attention to all those excuses and problems. When that happens to me I repeat : "I don't really know" "What do I know?" So you create a void in consciousnes in which you are at a thought of distance from the thought you would be having in the way to a better version. Be in the not knowing middle.

Like when you say "How do you find gym motivation and healthy eating habits when you’ve lost it all?"

Are you sure? How do you know? What does it even mean what you say?

What is all? What is it lost? What is it that you gained in the way? (at least knowledge of what's bad for you so you can compare)

Give yourself the benefit of the doubt and you will be at a thought of distance from a new self. And that difference is 100% different than your prior self. Stack that.

One more thing

In a mushroom trip with a high dose I had a revelation. My body was really mad at me. Accumulated all these tensions and strains inside , stress, fear, all embedded in the muscle memories and neural pathways.

And it was really angry at me. When I let my body loose of my mental control it started to move. And dance, and jump and play and it ran like releasing a wild horse to the prairie. And it kicked and turned around and stomped the ground. And if it would have had voice it would have said:

"You idiot always doing mechanical movements and training in patterns and repetitions and sets and schedules. You fool always moving like a robot. Let me be free of your idiocy I am not a machine I am a living being "

And I spent the next hour jumping around and kicking the air and waving my arms and running back and forth until I was breathless and exhausted.

And my body was right. It has memory and intelligence of its own. It is smart as millions of years of evolution. And it holds record of what happens to you. So we better find ways to move that create good memories. Going to the gym, using apparatus, gear, stupid repetitive motions, no meaning, no goal, just becoming machinery yourself. That is a disgrace for some bodies and beings that crave to be free and play.

So in the end I learnt that I need time to be goofy moving, let the horse wild, go nuts in movement and dance. I often do it when I go for a run at nights, when no one sees me in the dark. (Because it would be very weird if someone sees me) Or I let loose the wild animal in a far away empty field I tend to visit.

Find the way you balance traditional excercise with releasing your animal.

If you find many blockages in your relationship with excercise. You will probably need a releasing of your inner tiger. Go goofy and enjoy pure movement.

I recommend Ido Portal. I've seen the things he does and it can be alike to a discipline that integrates those parts.

What you chose to do in the next minute of your life is up to you.

There is no reason to not start cleaning your pantry of trash foods and subscribe to a gym in this next minute if this is what you want.
