Saving people from themselves is a god-complex and too many people today have it. It's the elitist mindset of thinking you know better than whole groups of people.

It's rarely saving people from themselves. It's almost always pretending to save people from themselves while manipulating them into doing your own bidding to your own advantage.

You nailed it!

Literally. Never read something more true.

If I can save myself from myself it will be more than enough.

It's a whole religion and philosophy called Gnosticism that has its own rabbit hole. It's the religion of the elites. If you feel like learning more, this video makes for an excellent introduction https://youtu.be/X57EnniEE-k

So true Jimmy.

Don’t tread on me and I shall not tread on you.

So true.

While I do get your point, it does kind of contradict the whole essence of religion. What else is a Christian to do but to oppose sin and rescue sinners (from themselves)? While people do have a tendency to grant themselves godlike powers and judge others, the opposite of absolute tolerance is not necessarily much better... In my opinion it always comes down to the use of force: you can and should try to convince people to abandon their sinful ways but you have no right to force your ideas upon them.

But this is what we do with shitcoiners …

Reminds me of a quote.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
