No, Zebedee is some sort of superapp that pays for attention. Games, podcasts, participation in surveys, and own social network on Nostr. That's not a Nostr client. They give access to zbd social (Nostr client) by inviting users in wait-list. I'm not telling this is bad, but it smells like another media corporation with KYC and data collection...

There is literally no audience here. Some YouTube channels or subreddits are more popular than entire Nostr. That's why you can't talk about the ultimacy of nostr hashtag.

Still many people use mIRC when talking about IRC. No one remembers the name of email protocols. No one cares what Signal protocol is called. There are exceptions too. For example Matrix. But it's because of a popular movie. If a protocol was called Matrxter, people would try to forget the name.

Nostr is a protocol. Zebedee is an app. True. But Nostr is a brand also. Like Twitter or Telegram. At least for now.
By the way never heard of mIRC. Used Pidgin for XMPP/IRC/GTalk. It's a client. And no more.

You're getting a little ahead of yourself by making Nostr look like an established project, which it is not. It's just a collection of poorly written specs on GitHub on how to make JSON. It takes time to prove that this is serious and not just a writing of stoned bitcoiners.
Maybe in the future you won't use relay at all, and just pull notes from the cacheserver. Will that still be a nostr client? 🤔🤣

Google and Facebook made their chatrooms only for their users, no matter XMPP or something. And direct connection between Facebook users and Google users inside their ecosystem never was the feature for the understandable reasons.
Today I'm using Nostr. I don't care if it will die, or there will be cool fork, or bigtech will develop a new superapp. And I don't care if everybody will forget the word Nostr. I don't care what is going on in Google's or Facebook's or ZBD apps. Now you're user of Nostr protocol, and zbdists too, just like me. That's what I'm talking about. If they wanna pretending that they are in some kind of universe is their business. I'm not trying to convince anyone, I'm talking about the actual situation.

I understand what you’re saying around educating users about nostr. I say this a lot, but because the ZBD userbase is not mostly folks who wanna make some sats on their phone and connect with friends, it’s already a lot to introduce a social w/ money infused into it. Explaining what nostr is - very complicated for the avg user. However we are cooking up some fun ways to explain the nostrverse to folks - but we want to o it correctly and in a fun, engaging way. Things like this take time to materialize.
