Over the past 2 weeks I've started building a new 2nd brain...

It's something that I've trialled many times, but with the help of a mentor, I am designing a new system I am excited about

In particular it's about optimising for creativity AND productivity

- catch all ideas and record in Notion

- spend up to 2 mins jotting the thought down

- then do nothing at all about it

- each week review for 30 mins all ideas

- then file them away (fuck yeah, fuck that, maybe later)

This week here is a list of all the ideas I came up with:

- What happens if we buy a business in Byron bay?

- Write article about BMA

- Become a Nostr expert

- Invest in vc funds

- Start a bitcoin bank (Solving the wealth problem IS the problem

- I want to do deep work. Not have schedule open to random calls. Truly focus

- Write article about investing “alpha”

- I want to be a venture capitalist

- Delete distracting shit off phone. Diacipliend morning creation routine

- Long form podcast. “Best”

- Build a Hormozi style grand slam offer

- Use Fountain to find the most boosted podcast section - then creat clip

- Morning routine. How can I improve it?

- Ai scripts for jake present short form video

- Nostr native podcast clip / shorts client

- Buy a map of the world. Where to live?

- Nostr media co that matches donations

- Vc history research

- Train an AI with all the Bitcoin content I’ve consumed

- Learn about AI in relation to content creation

- Get debt vs bitcoin to buy a house

- Mindset work. Not compare & dispair

- Write a book

- Create first . Consume second.

- Build a publishing machine that uses nostr first, but cross posts to existing platforms as well

- Build a nostr client that actually works for a podcaster

- a bitcoin backed mortgage product

- Long form podcast

- High ticket coaching program for HNW on Bitcoin journey

- Create a nostr user protocol & content schedule

- A Nostr focused Angel Investing syndicate

I am spending 30 mins now reviewing them, culling them, indeed what we're calling this is "Dream-Killing"

The intention is to whittle down to THE ONE THING that I have to focus on above all else.

How do you figure out what to work on?

My 2nd Brain is Apple Notes, but I think I'm outgrowing it, so I'd be interesting in following your journey.

I have something similar although not as organised. But I have about 5 notebooks full of ideas. I don't write them down daily neither review with any consistency. Also my ideas are writen in longer form and with some drawings.

PS. Writing manually makes thing stick in my crazy brain.

ask god

follow my heart

trust my instinct

All very important tools to make decisions

I actually find Nostr very intuitive, instinctive as you say. Something just saying "jake, spend time there, something cool is unfolding"

Compared to the world population you are already a Nostr expert. You already have this list which is a super good start. (Maybe give each idea a grade of necessity, time-needed and a grade of individual joy while you work on it!)

After this, I would start working on the idea that has the highest rating. Some ideas are also connected, so working on one will hopefully fulfill another one.

In Germany we would say that you already have got “half of the monthly rent” with this list. And it is true!

Yeah the next step is "can I work on this right now?"

So I define as actionable, or not

Then list them all up and figure out THE ONE

Fun process

I wonder if I can keep it up!

"Create first . Consume second."

This resonates with me. I find like cooking for myself/others is always super rewarding. Rolling it out to other areas like, idk, sing some songs, etc.

" Buy a map of the world. Where to live?" -- i love this topic.

I always wanted to live in the coastal jungle mountains of Brazil. Now I think Guatemala or El Salvador just because of the government is more forward thinking wrt Bitcoin.

Why don't you move? What's stopping you?

fear!

long answer:

a dog -- not my dog, but a dog in my current household loves me

public amenities like the library and swimming pool

biking -- not as many bike lanes there and less respect bicyclists/pedestrians

hiking -- public park land is everywhere in US, harder to find in countries like El Salvador

having actually lived in many other places, actually there is a lot of areas you can just roam around in very often, most parts of the balkans there were hiking tracks and forests and parks, but the language thing is not easy... having said that, spanish is probably one of the easiest languages to learn, as it's really close to english in its grammar and many of its latin roots

personally, i don't want to ever live in a city anywhere ever again... i mean, out of all the cities i've lived in, probably Sofia was the best and Sarajevo was runner up but my most fond memories in strange places have been rural or semi-rural

there is always land that is unsuitable for urbanisation or agriculture or industry everywhere, too slopy, too high altitude, too rocky, everywhere, but you often don't see it mentioned in information about the places... i remember walking through some amazing semi-wilderness parkland in italy in several areas both in the north and south of the country

the other side to this is whatever your job is, if you are stuck in a location for the work, you have to have savings to make a transition to elsewhere

i'm right now in this position, but i got into a semirural area and i've integrated pretty well with the local people but i do want to go somewhere colder, more high up, and where english is the first language, and i don't want to even have as many people around me as i have now, i'd rather barely even hear their vehicles in the distance let alone not even that, if possible

that takes a lot of organising and planning, so, i think it's not just fear but not enough time or priority for the change, and not enough savings

the most evil thing about the fiat system is how it steals savings, and the most beautiful thing about bitcoin is how it gives it back

oh yeah, i almost had forgotten about this but one time in northern italy i was in this mountain area, and i spied a hill and not sure what made me think i should go there but i walked some track over to it and found a grotto, a small cave, under the peak of the hill, and there was space for me to start a fire to keep warm and all... it was awesome, truly an experience

The key is the choice! You go where you want to go

Love it

All totally valid!
