Yes, indeed. And I am saying that as an Iranian.

What on and off ramps do they have? Has govt cracked down on btc yet?

We are trying to educate people on self-custody and using the lightning network. Government would like to crack down on it, but they haven’t been that successful. Despite all that, the rate at which people should be turning to Bitcoin is way lower than it should be. Those who have grasped it have a less difficult time - financially.

CEXs are widespread and competitive (for now) but we have some local p2p markets too in case of a govt hostile measures (IMO its a question of when rather than if)

When I exited the country, 8 years ago, every dollar was 4K tomans. Now it’s 150K!

Is hyperinflation around the corner?

According to the state statistics center, inflation rate in December rose to 42.2% from the same period last year, and is 1.8% higher than in November. Foodstuff prices rose 72% and health and medical items were up 50% from December last year, according to the statistics center. Many critics see the rate a sign of an approaching hyperinflation.
